This ‘older lady’ attempting to scam me on eBay

I dropped this item off at the post office as soon as payment cleared because I’m on track to become a top-rated seller. She almost immediately wanted me to cancel this, but I explained she’ll have to return it and once I get it back I can send the refund. Lo and behold today I get these messages insinuating she wants me to give her money back for free and she keeps the item. If you needed the money why would you MAKE AN OFFER on an expensive pair of bone-conducting headphones in the first place?

Did I handle this correctly?

Had a buyer request a cancellation a few hours after they submitted an offer and payment went through. I’m on track to become a top-rated seller (for the first time 🥳) on the 20th of this month so I was staying on top of shipping, meaning I packed and dropped off the headphones at the post office immediately after receiving payment. Then I get the cancellation request a few hours later.

I explained how I would be happy to accept a request once she received the item, but I got these messages today when it was delivered.

I absolutely do not want to be heartless or insensitive, but I also know that there are some people out there that would attempt to use this as a way to get a free item. My thinking is, if she needed this money for groceries, she would not have offered the $95 for the headphones in the first place. I also test all of my items if they are open before listing, and these headphones worked properly 100%. Was my response okay? I did not want to be insensitive, but I also do not want to lose out on $95.

My plan is to not communicate with the buyer anymore, and wait for a return request to come in and I’ll deal with it from then on. This was my first incident like this selling, so I wanted to ask how yall would have handled this, and what would you have done/done differently? If I was a jerk, please do let me know too. I’m torn about this whole thing ☹️

EDIT: I looked up her information online and do think the story is true. Which is the part I’m torn about

Concerned about a new return

On April 26th, a buyer purchased a printhead for a printer with a note requesting overnight shipping. I reached out saying since I had the listing marked free shipping, that we would have to work out a way for them to pay me. After some back and forth I decided to contact eBay where they told me this is the one time they would allow outside payment to settle shipping fees- so the buyer Venmo’s me $41 to cover the extra fees for overnight shipping. The buyer received the item in 2 days and has been quiet- up until this morning.

This morning I received a message stating the printhead was faulty, and that they were just giving me a heads up. No return request has been filed yet, but I assume that is to come. I think it’s obvious that the printhead worked, and that the buyer used it for some job or workload they needed it for, and now want to return it to get their money back. Because why would they request overnight shipping, and wait almost 3 weeks later to tell me it’s not working? Regardless, I’m worried what’s to come since I accepted payment for shipping outside of eBay.

What’s going to happen and how should I handle this? I’ve never had something like this happen before. Am I going to be able to deny the request? We communicated solely through eBay, so would eBay be able to see those messages, understand the situation and side with me in the event that a case is opened for this? This thing sold for almost $200 so it’s not a small amount. I’m worried ☹️

Real Shrouded Fable packs?

A local auction house is auctioning off these Shrouded Fable packs. As far as I know and what google is telling me, there are no shrouded fable booster boxes so I'm questioning if these are real packs since there are so many all together! What do you guys think?

Denying Returns on eBay

Throughout my selling journey on eBay, I've tried to be a stellar seller. I've accepted every return request I've received (Including ones I really shouldn't have accepted), but I'm starting to get tired of it. I just received a new return request for this cell phone booster with the return reason being 'doesn't fit'.

On my listings I have it set to 'seller does not accept returns'. I'm really inclined to just deny this return request, but I wanted to ask here how this works and if I would get punished for denying since I've never denied one before. Is there anything I should look out for or be aware of before denying? I have a 100% rating and I'm worried I'll receive a bad review for denying. Thanks in advance.

Buyer returned item after using for over a month

Back on March 15th I sold a print-head for a Canon printer. It was brand new open-box (I inspected it myself). On April 24th I received a return request saying that an item I had sold was not functional. The buyer sent photos of a clearly used printhead. I was an idiot and hit accept on accident so I accepted the return. The buyer waited until May 4th to send the item back to me. I just received it and it's covered in ink, clearly had been used for a while. I figured when I went to view the return request on eBay, I would have an option to fight the return. I hit 'report a problem', checked the boxes on how the buyer had used the item, but on the next page it said that eBay would look into it, and that I still had to refund the buyer.

Is that how return disputes is supposed to work? I have to send the buyer their money back, then maybe eBay will step in and do something? Am I out almost $300? I'm pretty bummed out with all this.

Hey everyone! I wanted to start by saying this is my very first telescope I’ve ever owned so I have practically no knowledge on how to work these. I’ve always wanted a telescope but was never able to afford one- however I found this one for sale on a local auction site and won it for only $6!!! It was listed as broken, but it was cheap and I was hoping to be able to fix it.

From my research, I know I have to do collimation. I think I have the eyepiece, and the first mirror your vision hits that directs it back to the rear mirror adjusted, but now the rear mirror is showing at an angle.

In my photo, I tried to take a picture of the lens at the direct center so you can see the angle is off. I’ve tried to research how to adjust this, but nothing is making sense to me. The silver screws on the outside rear of the telescope don’t move, and I’ve tried to mess with the ones holding the bracket of the rear lens in the inside but I can’t get them to budge either!

I’m really just looking for advice if anyone has this model on how I can get this adjusted, or if you could please point me in the direction of instructions on how to get this adjusted. I am SO EXCITED that I finally get to own one, and I really want to check out the moon tonight.

Thank you all in advance 😁
