Whether it was due to having to end things due to external circumstances, messing up, or realizing things weren’t working. Have any of you experienced this? Does it ever get better?

I’m referring to the local music of the area such as vallenato, bullerengue, champeta, etc. I am an Afro-Latin music aficionado and am wondering if anyone knows of any venues or businesses where I could hear this music being played preferably live. I am a fluent Spanish speaker so if they so happen to be located in places outside of the tourist areas I don’t think I would have a problem finding my way around. Thank you.

Hi everyone! I am going to be in Cartagena for 8 days from July 21 to 29 of this year. For some context, this will be my first solo trip, I am a 23 year old Latino gay male, and am fluent in Spanish. This is what I have so far:

Day 1:
I get to Cartagena at 12:35 PM. Get to my hotel and rest a little bit. Walk around casually and have dinner.

Day 2:
Visit San Felipe de Barajas castle in the morning; the Walled City, and end the day in Getsemaní, possibly go to a club/bar.

Day 3:
San Basilio de Palenque tour with local guide. This tour would last for seven hours and would take up the better part of my day. In the evening maybe go to Bocagrande.

Day 4:
Take a speed boat to the Rosario Islands and spend the day there. I am debating on possibly staying the night there.

Day 5:
If I end up staying in the islands find my way back to Cartagena, if not, start my day in Cartagena and secure transit to take me to Santa Marta and then to Tayrona. I plan to find a hotel near the entrance of Tayrona.

Day 6:
Spend the day at Tayrona National Park. This would be my second night staying in the Tayrona area.

Day 7:
Go from Tayrona to Santa Marta. See Santa Marta very briefly and get back to Cartagena by the evening. Chill out and prepare to fly out the next day.

Day 8:
Plane departs Cartagena at 1:35 PM.

Have any of you traveled from Cartagena to Tayrona? What are the logistics of the trip? What are some of the do’s and don’ts of these areas? Hotel/hostel/restaurant/club recommendations? I would appreciate any feedback!
