Never seen ducks perched like this. Either they’re flying or on the ground or water.

I bought a secondhand bike and was happy with it until I realised that the brakes are around the wrong way. I am used to left being the back brake. Right back brake is doing my head in! How do I change it? Is this a cable thing or a brake handle thing? Any videos to walk me through this? Or what can I search for to find a good video? Please help.
