Whoa NW 21st Ave

Just went to the Market at Hoyt. It was like walking onto the set of a live version of Night of the Living Dead. People slumped over stoned, camped out in doorways, stumbling down the street pushing baby strollers filled with with dogs.

What happened over there ?

(Edits of typos & adding context)

I’ve lived in NYC, Miami, Washington D.C, Manila, and Johannesburg. I have seen a few things. I’m not easily spooked.

For reals, it breaks my heart to see a wonderful place like Portland fall to shit, and to see people who are struggling with severe mental health and drug challenges be left dangling in the wind.

I have no suggestions to offer for fixes. Gtg shut my window.

The guy who screams “FUCK YOU” for an hour on NW 22nd Ave is back.
