Okay now this one confused me... how is this person a manager?

So yesterday the delivery wagon rocks up about 40mins late not his fault, the store he went to previous kept him waiting 40mins for four pallets of delivery to be unloaded the rest was for my store.

Driver is a lovely bloke always helps etc, so we start unloading a full wagon in effect, Clothing, grocery, frozen and argos on it.

Gets towards the end im taking frozen to the other end of the warehouse (seriously I hate who ever designed the warehouse that way takes about 5mins each way) and the trading manager asks.

"Oh is that all the delivery done now?"

Um no I've got another six frozen to bring down plus put salvage on the wagon, we've not had any salvage sent back for a day and half, so were a bit full in the warehouse.

They know this they had even said to me that morning we were a bit full with salvage....

Another 45mins goes by frozen is away, as much salvage as possible is on the wagon, I go on my break at last

Over the headset im asked why didn't I send all the salvage back by the manager who made the comment about us being full in the back...

I responded with "got as much on the wagon as I could"

And I had it was full upto the steel plate fgs

Does this manager lack an understanding of physics and space?

A trailer has finite amount of space, we can only get so much on....

Seriously how do some of these people function let alone get put in positions of power and responsibility?!

"Can you..." can you get lost?

Im at my limit today tbh nearly 20 years working here, and recently the ladies on tills have embraced the whole

"You can't leave tills or self scan to do X"

With an almost religious devotion aka there using it as an excuse to be lazy

For the past two weeks me and the other guy who does back door/shop floor have been run ragged, can we put this away, can we find this barcode/item, can we do trolleys, can we shove a broom up our arse and sweep as we go along!

In between all this were also keeping the warehouse tidy and organised, emptying bales/crushing them down because the big green button that lights up is beyond most folk to press! Taking deliveries off wagons, loading salvage onto them, unloading Argos hub deliveries and taking them down (don't get me started on that one Argos can bring there salvage down but can't come get there hub delivery... the f@ck?!)

And I must stress this were doing this on our own, no help etc like most other departments were we see two or three people on an aisle working together

And managers wonder why me and the other back door guy are permanently semi grumpy

Every Sunday in my store we open 30mins early so folk can browse....

And the same ten to fifteen people rush in every Sunday, fill up there trolleys in 10mins because the stores dead/were just finishing tidying up from the overnight delivery

They then rush down to the checkouts/self scan and spend the remaining fifteen to twenty minutes, huffing, puffing, muttering "come on hurry up!"

We cannot put any transactions through before ten o'clock, Sunday trading laws... you know this, we have told you this...

Yet every Sunday you rush in like lemmings expecting something different? Im sure that's a definition of insanity....

Sorry just needed a rant just tired of explaining the same things to the same folks every Sunday

This is a short one but im still mad about it....

We have headsets in our store to make it easier to communicate etc unless you have to wear hearing aids...

And yesterday one colleague asked six fucking times for a colleague who can't wear a headset because they wear hearing aids...

They were told on the the second time that X colleague doesn't wear a headset because you know hearing aids..

But still the dumb ass kept asking!! And got told they don't wear one...!!!

Ok this happened an hour ago UK time, im once again taking argos delivery down no big deal three cages, whip them down one by one on the electric truck

On the way back a woman is running up and down our frozen aisle looking for something

I stop and ask to be helpful

"What you looking for love?"

"Ice pops ready to freeze"

My does blue screen of death reboots and realises what she just said....

"Baking aisle with all the wafer cones and ice cream toppings"

"Thanks!"

She charges off

Why in the name of sanity would be looking for READY TO FREEZE products on the frozen aisle?!!!

It's 9.15am right now and im already wondering if its to early to crack open a beer lol

We have an extra special winner!!!

Yesterday morning i unloaded the morning argos delivery... on it were two huge 30kg bbqs for customer collection.... tremendous...

Day goes on, im asked to go to argos to help with something, that something being....

Yup you guessed it one of the huge bbqs, I grab a small flatbed to wheel it to there car... OMFG!!!

It was a mother fucking SMART CAR!!!

Link below if your wondering....

Straight away I said its not going to fit...

The customer being a stubborn lady of a late gen X type insists it will....

For 15mins we tried to cram it in....

She ended up taking it back in store and asking could she pick it up tomorrow when a friend with a bigger car could come help.... she went nuclear when she got told no...

As because the item had now been flagged as collected its her issue now etc

She ended up ordering an uber to follow her home in her tiny car and it was around 4pm here in the 🇬🇧 when she left.... and guys that's when tea time traffic starts kids finish school, people going home from work etc

I looked on my uber app... prices were between 8 and 12 pounds... Argos delivery charges start from £3.95 for small items, with Fast Track same-day delivery available for £7.95 (ordered by 1pm). Large item delivery starts from £9.95, sooo yeah lol don't rock up in a clown car to pick up a four burner gas powered 30kg bbq just to save a few quid.
