Recommendation for draftsman

Hi everyone, I’m looking for a draftsman for a renovation we’re hoping to complete. It will involve enclosing part of a verandah for an ensuite off the main bedroom. Would love to hear any recommendations (or who to avoid)!

Easiest way to remove old silicone from shed/concrete?

Previous owner built an office space but on concrete with no fall and uneven gaps the whole way around. Various sealants have been layered on top.

We now need to redo it but want to remove the current dog’s breakfast to get as clean a seal as possible.

I’m using a knife and pliers to cut and pull but it’s hideously slow. The top layer is coming off pretty easily but underneath it is another story. It’s a mix of gluey and rock hard.

Any suggestions to make life easier (and give my poor hands a break)?

Cladding for extension

We’re looking at getting part of the verandah of our Queenslander enclosed and getting different quotes. One carpenter suggested cement cladding for reduced maintenance. I’m leaning towards timber from a movement perspective but would be interested to hear thoughts on pros/cons from people who have done similar and tradies.

More details: house is 100+ years old, no heritage overlay, room will become a bathroom, house is raised and on hard clay. We experience weather extremes so the house does shift a bit.

I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this and has some positive stories because I’m beginning to freak out.

FTM and I had really severe ligament pain in my last two months of pregnancy to the point of being almost unable to walk. I had a c-section and recovery from it was fine but really struggled with ligament pain.

For context it, it took me 3 months to be able to lift my leg enough to step into our shower. Working with a physio allowed me to finally roll onto my side at 4 months pp.

I’m now at almost 8-months and still can’t walk /rock /sit on the floor with my baby, etc without pain. I’ve had scans and apparently I’ve got adenomyosis triggered by pregnancy but the pain I’m experiencing doesn’t seem to fit.

I keep getting questions about when we’re having another and it’s absolutely not happening because I can’t look after a toddler and a newborn with the amount of pain I’m experiencing.

I’m back at work soon and dreading what being at a computer is going to do to my body. Our baby is close to crawling and I’m freaking out that I’m not going to be the mum I want to be because I can’t move without pain. Running (even speed walking) is 100% out of the question so what do I do when he starts getting more active?

I do physio, walk everyday (acreage), and am on anti-inflammatories. I used to be really fit and active and I’m so worried that this is my body now.

Has anyone experienced similar and come out the other side?

I’m 7-months post partum and developed severe ligament pain in my pelvis during my final two months of pregnancy.

I could barely walk, couldn’t lie on my side and getting up/down was excruciating. Everyone says pregnancy symptoms disappear when baby arrives however, I’m still experiencing difficulties.

I’m working with a physio specialising in women’s health and with her help I was finally able to roll onto my side in bed at 4-months post partum. Walking is still painful and so is getting up and down. I can’t pick up speed or stretch my legs out at all.

I recently had scans and was diagnosed with Adenomyosis. I’m on anti inflammatories and the pill, and my dr seems to think this is the cause of all my pain and it will disappear with the two pills. So far, no difference in pain levels.

Just wondering if anyone has experienced the same type of pain and if so, if anything worked? The best way I can describe it is that feeling of trying to do the splits, hitting the max you can do and someone pushing down hard to force you further.
