Tucson HEV - 2022

Thrilled to join the club with my 2022 Tucson HEV Premium! After having it as a rental during our Florida visit in 2022, I’ve wanted one for myself. Traded in my 2019 Hyundai Kona EV and have no regrets at all. What an amazing vehicle!

Was a little “sad” that the Intense Blue version isn’t sold here in the Netherlands, but the Tucson looks incredible in Shimmering Silver!

Warranty or not?

I drive a Kona Electric 64kWh, built in 2019 in Austria and was imported to the Netherlands in April 2020. By now there are 143k km's on it and counting. Have dropped a number of questions in this thread, so I figured I'd just drop another one...

Roughly 2,5 months ago I noticed some kind of airbubble on the right side of my infotainment screen. Over the past few weeks, with temperatures rising significantly here in the Netherlands, this expanded over the right side and onto the top side. This Friday, I will have my car undergo its routine maintenance and have a recall performed for the BMS. I want to check whether this would qualify for "fix under warranty" or not. I tried chatting with Hyundai Service Center and they indicate that different warranty terms apply for the infotainment system than other parts. They advised going to a certified Hyundai dealer to have them check the damage.

I plan on having the dealer make their estimate on whether it can be fixed under warranty, but as I retrieve a lot of valuable info from this thread, I want to check it here as well to know what I can expect.

P.s.: I am aware of the dust... ;-)

Inaccurate OBD2 values

Recently I bought an OBD2 scanner as I was curious about my Kona EV 64kWh (2019). Most of the values in the dashboard that relate to the battery seem to be way off. With over 140k km on the odometer, I’d expect at least 22,5k kWh charged at an average consumption of 6,25km/kWh. There is no history of a battery replacement and the 12V battery was replaced more than 2 years ago when I bought the car. In those two year I put well over 65000km on the clock, so even for these numbers it would not meet up… Is there any means through which I could get more representative data out of the OBD2 scanner?

First sub 30 5k

Started running last January and ran my first non-stop 5k 49 days ago. Back then it felt pretty hard, but figured I could maybe go a little faster. After not running for the past two weeks due works in the garden, I decided to go for another run today. The first km passed like a breeze and thought I’d push myself and see if I could aim for that first sub 30m 5k. Last km didn’t come easy at all, but very much pleased that I pushed through. I’m quite amazed by the amount of progress you can get in a relatively short time, as long as you stay consistent.
