Color My World: Tiramisu

I waited til my CMW order came in before doing a new set!! I absolutely love this color!! Cool toned neutrals are my jam.

This time went much faster, and I think I improved at laying down thinner coats of the base. I also had to do less filing! I did a better job of staying off my cuticles up until the top coat...

39/F Opening up my mailbox

Hi! I've been penpalling for quite some time. Seeing as my lifestyle has changed drastically, I have more free time now than I used to. I'd like to fill that time with pen and paper.

Long letters, short messages, it doesn't really matter to me. Plain or decorated. Chicken scratch or polished penmanship. Steady or inconsistent. Peoples schedules and amount of free time is always fluid. I will never get irritated with a long gap between letters.

I will just say that I would rather get to know you on paper instead of in messages prior to writing our first letters. I don't mind writing first.

I am happily married, so as long as there are no expectations of anything beyond platonic correspondence, it doesn't matter what gender or orientation you are. I am open to things like exchanging recipes and whatnot too, since I love to cook/bake.

Drop me a DM if you're ready to write or get a letter.

I can never step outside again...

Leftover pork chop and mashed potatoes while I come to terms with a degree of embarrassment I was not prepared for when I woke up this morning...

My son didn't sleep well last night, which made him difficult this morning. So, of course, I put on my crown. It's a game we play when I need him to listen. It is a little silly, but with the crown (yeah, a literal crown) comes an understanding of authority, and as long as I sprinkle in some goofy commands, he will readily obey The Queen. The morning got back on track, and I was able to fold laundry and get some other chores done while he laid down for quiet time. Yay!

So after quiet time, we walked up to the mailboxes to check our mail. It's an apartment complex consisting of multiple buildings with all the mailboxes at a single spot up the road. It's not public enough that I have any qualms about wearing my house cleaning clothes to go grab the mail, but not incredibly private either because of the volume of residents.

I realized when we got back that I was still wearing the crown from this morning. It's not some small, inconspicuous circlet. It is shiny and gaudy as hell.

In hindsight I should have realized because my son was incredibly well-behaved the whole walk.

Anyway, as soon as we finish our lunch, we're going to make chocolate chip cookies so we can both eat my feelings.

And I know it's not the end of the world. It's just that we're new here. I don't have any friends here yet. And I have ANXIETY. The neighbors all probably think we're weird now. Which... Fair, I guess? Why is it so damn hard to make friends as an adult??

UPDATE:

My husband (The King) saw this on r/all. Ofc he recognized halfway through reading that it was me.

Anyway, he is home from work now, and expressed that he definitely agrees with what everyone here has already said. He took over playing with Little Man and I got to hang in the kitchen solo for a bit. Made bang bang chicken for dinner.

I'm logging off for the night to hang with my two besties and I might actually venture out to take the trash out instead of letting my man do it for me. With my crown, and my ratty old coffee-stained shirt and shorts.

Thank you all for the kindness and encouragement. The sheer volume of positivity has shown me that this isn't as strange as I imagined it to be in my head. I'm gonna relax.
