Picking a job advice needed.

Flagged as a small decision cos I don't think it's that important in the large scheme of things but feels pretty important to me.

For the context I am a first-year student who is getting partially sponsored by his parents. I have been searching for a part-time job for quite a while, and I have recently gotten two separate opportunities to work.

The first is a super-market job (I have worked in a super-market before, so I know what this entails). It pays just above minimum wage and isnt many hours a week. I have gotten a job offer from them and my induction is scheduled tomorrow (which is when I will be signing the contract). It doesnt interfere with my studies at all.

The second job is a low-ranking position in one of my country's ministries. This pays significantly better and I think it might look significantly better on my CV. I have gone through two rounds of interviews, one in front of the board and it all seems pretty prestigious. They got back to me today and said that I have passed both interview rounds and they are now going to going to get in contact with my referees. The way it was phrased it makes it seem like I basically already have a foot in the door (I am pretty confident in my references). The exact wording was "If we get to offer stage once references are completed, what would a potential start date be for you?". This position would make my miss a lecture a week, but attendance isn't part of my grade and I'm fairly confident in my subject knowledge.

This leaves me with a dilemma. Do I turn down the offer from the supermarket and bank on the fact that I get the job with the ministry or do I go with the option I know will for sure work out?

Please help)))
