I’m going to uni in september and need a new laptop as I currently have a Mac air and I’ve read online that macOS won’t work for all the software I might need for uni. I was looking at the g16 and wasn’t entirely sure which one to get between the two and which one would be best suited for EE at uni. I was looking at the 5070Ti versions of both laptops with 32GB of RAM as I’d like to play a few games

Ill be going to my first year at uni this september and need a laptop as i currently have a macbook air m2 and i've read online that a windows laptop would be better but im not 100% sure which laptop exactly would be the best. My budget is flexible maybe around 3000 to 4000 usd as id rather buy something thats a bit more expensive now and it last me the entire time than cheap out now and regret it later.

I was looking at the Asus proart p16, the thinkpad p1 gen 7, yoga pro 9i or 7i, thinkpad x1, thinkpad x9 but im not sure if these are overkill or not and if they are what other laptops would be better suited for my 5 years at uni

I applied to uoft for EE and got waitlisted and was wondering if anyone knows when they start making decisions and what the chances are of me getting in and if they base it off of grades or other factors as well? I’m in international student and got predicted A*A*A for my A Levels for maths physics and chemistry
