As an Aussie fan, we’re stuck in between two selection policies which I feel is hurting us and we should commit to one or the other.

I look at enviously at your set up, it looks like you can have your cake and eat it too. Select liberally from overseas, Springboks are strong, and domestic teams are competitive in URC.

Are there issues with your current policy? Is availability of players difficult? We often find French/UK strong arming our players so they’re not available early enough to make it worthwhile to select them.

Do you have issues with cohesiveness?

I notice Springboks rarely debut from an OS club, are there players who are being overlooked?

Any and all thoughts welcome! Trying to inform myself how Australia should go about it.

There’s lots of angst in Australia about our best young talent being signed overseas (think Heinz Lemoto, Lehopo Leota). I doubt they’ll ever come back and eventually they will, if good enough, play for France like Moses Alo-Emile this week.

I always assume with player drain it’s even worse with you guys, is this true? Are your u18 stars in France and what are your thoughts/solutions on it?

Common assumption down under is Tom Hooper is the incumbent and is way better when he left than Kemeny was when he left.

But Josh has been going well for the Saints and I looked up their stats and Josh outperforms Tom in nearly every category. Most notably: defenders beaten, line breaks, post contact metres, tackling and discipline.
