just a celebratory post for myself!!! me and my gf got juvies a week or so ago because we feared all of our babies were already fully grown, well wrong we were! this morning i was awoken to see... BP all white and weird! im extraordinarily happy..i know ur not supposed to have favorite but. hes my...2nd. favorite. he is so so pretty . i am very proud of him. hes not quite all the way out yet but.. he's purrty darn close. also my camera makes him look a bit weird. LOL. im so cheesed

So yesterday me and my girlfriend went to our local reptile store in hopes of finding 2 male juvies(success!) and I got attached to this big ol guy in the first photo… his name is Blood Pudding:) or BP..like the gas station. Then BP, Visorak, and Big Banana in their holding cell while I set up their new 10 gal. Big Banana kept booty bumping Visorak off of the bark. +their new tank, and +the juvies’ tank! I don’t have any good photos of the babies at all lol. fast little shits. But we named them FedEx and Nuhvok Va:3

im worlds biggest idiot first roach owner. or so i think. first i thought he was somehow dying of pesticides (which he has no way of coming into contact with. and his tank mate is just fine), then molting, then thinking hes just fat and lazy. and now im thinking hes just old! when i got him i was told he was youngish. subadult. he was quite active, reacted a lot to touch, hissed, etc. he doesnt/didnt have intact legs, in fact most are somehow broken off. along with his antennae. hes been super sluggish not wanting to move from his food bowl for like a week. which is unlike him..so today i tipped him over into my hand and he started moving a bit more. he seems like..worse? at using his legs and walking. he doesnt put his head up much and when i touch his back he doesnt get all tall like he used to. he only really reacts to his sides being touched or he just. puts his head down and tucks all his legs in. his buddy, Visorak has been as active as usual and seems to quite love being handled as Big Neener used to.. i moved BB to the other side of the tank and he crawled around a bit. and then just tucked his head in once more . i know its normal for them to not be active much during the day but the most hes moved is just. rotating in the food bowl. uhhh. i dont quite know what i expect from this post. im just paranoid as hell. thank u guys for being a void for me to yell into

okay so for context, ive had these guys a month now? 2 males:) they get misted daily, have a heat pad, and get fed around every 2 days. usually banana and fish flakes because thats what i know for sure they will eat, they seem to like their tank but dont hide much. im not sure if this is a good or bad thing?? they mostly like to cuddle in their food bowls lol. i plan on getting them a bigger enclosure because i eventually want more but im wondering if this one is good for now? they are also given calcium on their food, and those water balls for feeders to make sure theyre hydrated. though they dont seem very interested in those. Anyway.!! if you have anything to say id be curious:)) i just want to do my best for them. once i get a bigger tank the goal is to make it bioactive with springtails, i also wanna know if anyone has experience with springtails in roach enclosures and if theres a risk of them escaping when i take them out to be handled?(the springtails lol) Thank ya!

I know this sub sees a million bajillion roaches eating neeners but i just love watching big banana eat...hes such a sweetie and genuinely books it everytime he sees a banana. his butt was all in visorak's face..visorak was unbothered. unfortunately for my girlfriend whom 'owns' visorak, hes a shy eater:( the only time we've seen him eat was fish flakes and he had his head tucked in lol. but hes a plump roach so i am not worried

first time poster on here just to see what people have to say lol. the mess is courtesy of the fact we just moved into this room. still finding places for everything... 😥

this is such a silly question but i was curious what your roaches favorite things to climb on are, right now mine have a few pieces of bark and a stick but they have the amazing and impressive habit of falling off of it onto their backs. im sure its fine and theyve never not been able to get up on their own but nonetheless i feel like i should replace it with more bark?? big banana is missing a few legs so i wonder if that contributes to his bad climbing... i just worry about them way too much and i would hate to stress them out by having things they suck at climbing on in there lol. i always feel bad seeing them struggle to get back up 🙁

me and my girlfriend just got our hissers yesterday and ive been quite worried about big banana because he hadnt ate anything but. today i hand fed him half a slice of banana and he devoured it !!! everyone is right about them loving neeners haha
