ECV for complete breech [NB]

I'm 37+3, FTM and my baby has been breech since 32 weeks (that we know). I've had quick ultrasounds at each of my appointments since 32 weeks to confirm where his head is, and at my appointment this week my OB did a more thorough scan and confirmed that he's complete breech position, so I now have an appointment for an ECV this coming week. We understand the risks, and that it can be quite painful. I asked my OB what the chances are for a successful ECV for complete breech specifically, and she said about 25%.

I've also been seeing a chiropractor since 30 weeks, and when I told her about the breech baby, she started performing the Webster technique (I've had 2 sessions of Webster, and have another the day before the ECV). My chiropractor also suggested doing acupuncture at this next appointment, and my OB is fine with trying that too. I've also been doing some exercises at home a few times per day, I've gone to the pool to try headstands underwater, so I really feel like I'm doing everything I can to encourage my little dude to flip.

I guess I'm just looking for some reassurance that it's worth it to try the ECV. I feel like if I don't try it, I'll always wonder if that could've been the difference between me having a vaginal birth or a C-section. My husband supports me, he says it's my body and he doesn't feel like he should weigh in on this, but when I press him he does feel like there's a lot of risk for not a huge chance of it being successful.

Has anyone had a successful ECV for a complete breech? What was your experience? Or if you had an unsuccessful ECV for a complete breech, are you glad that you tried regardless of the outcome? TIA!!

32 weeks pregnant, FTM, and very ready for people to stop touching me

The one thing that annoys me the most about pregnancy is that everyone feels like it's their right of passage to touch my belly. I don't mind it when they ask first, but colleagues and friends take every opportunity they can to touch my belly and I find it annoying. Like the only people I want touching me are myself and my husband lol.

I like hugs and would prefer that honestly. I wouldn't even care if a comment was made about there being less space or something because of the size of my belly. Just no touching my belly without asking. Whenever people around me have been pregnant, I've always asked if it's ok to touch their belly and I really thought that it was normal to ask beforehand.

There's also been 2 instances that weirded me out recently. We were at our friends' wedding, and another friend always gets very drunk and sloppy every time he drinks. Towards the end of the night, this friend asked to touch my belly, I said yes and was thinking "wow he actually asked before touching it!" He kept his hands on my belly for over a minute, and he was saying shit like "it's important for us to get along, I'm one of your husband's best friends and I'm going to be in your baby's life." I have no issues getting along with him, he's a smart person and we've had lots of good conversations (when he's sober). But when he's drunk, he's super sloppy and annoying and says weird shit. And him saying all of this while his hands were on my belly crossed a line. My husband didn't hear it, but when I told him about it he agreed that it was super weird.

Then yesterday, I was with one of my friends at a concert and we were sitting in the field waiting for the next artist to come on stage. She was drinking quite a bit, and touched my belly several times throughout the afternoon. She'd chat with others sitting near us, and she'd reach and touch my belly when she was telling them about how I'm pregnant. She's a toddler mom, and she was telling me all kinds of things about her experience with breastfeeding, pumping, and formula. Every mom I encounter wants to give advice, and I'll gladly listen, but I do take it with a grain of salt because everyone's pregnancy and postpartum experience is unique. I was telling her about my plans for nursing/pumping etc, and she touched my boob and said "all baby needs is this." I commented about how she touched my boob, and she just laughed. She also touched my leg several times throughout the day. She's not normally handsy when she's drunk, and it just was really off-putting for me.

Is this just me or are there others out there that can relate?!

What colour to paint this 70s wood paneling?

We ripped up our carpet which was hiding original hardwood floors in our house built in the 1950s! The wood paneling has been prepped and primed, we just need to decide on a colour. Also we’re keeping the trim and valences the original colour as an accent, might change it later if we don’t love it.

We’ve been leaning towards blues or greens, we want the room to feel cozy but I don’t want to go too dark as I’m going to have a little crafting corner in the back so need to be able to see. Ideas please!

Flooring replacement project turned into just a paint job! My husband still loves me

So we bought our house almost 4 years ago. It's a 1950s build, we're the 3rd owners. When it was sold to the previous owners, the whole interior was carpet, and they ripped up the carpet which was hiding original hardwood floors! They ripped the carpet in every room except for the tv room, which has 1970s wood paneling (thin sheets stuck to the walls).

We've been wanting to get rid of the carpet in this room since we bought the house, but we had other urgent things with the house that needed to be fixed, and we deemed this job as aesthetic, so we put it off. I had suggested painting the wood paneling to at least lighten the room since the paneling is a red-ish brown, but my husband had never seen painted paneling before and wasn't interested in this idea. So we decided we would replace the carpet with laminate down the line. We both thought that this was the one room that didn't have hardwood underneath since the previous owners didn't do it. I had checked one night 2 years ago in a small corner, and what I saw looked like sub flooring.

Fast-forward to now, we just celebrated our first anniversary, and our first baby is coming into the world in less than 10 weeks. We both agreed that this flooring project needs to be done before the baby arrives, and before the nursery gets started (stuff that's in that room will be moved into the tv room, and it doesn't make sense to move it twice). We saved up money for our home projects, and we now have more than enough to cover the flooring project and the nursery.

My husband decided that this is the weekend that we'll take on this project. He got home from work yesterday, we picked up the flooring (so he loaded 19 35lb boxes of laminate into the cart, then into the car - pregnancy and my job has injured my back so I'm trying to not lift things that are awkward and heavier to carry), we got home and it started to downpour (a sign from the universe?) so he only brought one box in. He set the box down, then pulled up a bigger corner of the carpet just to see what tools we needed to buy for getting out the nails, staples, etc. I'm standing beside him, and my eyes immediately widen because I'm seeing hardwood floor and I realize I fucked up when I did my late-night, sleepy check 2 years ago. It took my husband a moment to realize what he was seeing, and when he did, he just starts shaking his head and laughing. He was blaming himself for not checking again himself beforehand, but this is entirely my fault and I don't know how many times I apologized. I immediately ordered pizza from our favourite local shop for supper, he decompressed, and then we returned the laminate.

So now, because the hardwood and the wood paneling are really similar in colour, we need to pivot. I showed him pictures of painted wood paneling since he's never seen it or looked into it, and he changed his mind about that idea and agreed that it actually looks good. We still went to the hardware store to get tools we were missing for the carpet removal, and I picked up paint chips. He said he wants nothing to do with the colour-choosing, that I can pick and we'll do the job together. We're good at problem-solving together without fighting, and this was another of those situations and I'm very thankful. I'm also a person who tries to find the silver-lining, and we're now going to have money leftover from our home project savings! :)

I know that we're both going to be laughing about this in years to come.
