A UK coach asked me how to pronounce my brand name… now I’m curious 😄 (No Google, no AI)

Hi everyone,

I’m Ruth, the founder of Formwynn, a small activewear brand I’m building.

Something funny happened recently.A UK coach I was speaking with sent me this message:

“I am cracking up, I am trying to figure out how to pronounce Formwynn, can you tell me how? 🤣🫶🏻😆😬”

And honestly, it made me realise that after spending so much time with the name, I might be too close to it to know what it feels like to someone seeing it for the first time. So I’m curious:

Seeing this name:

FORMWYNN

Before searching, Googling, or asking AI:

  • How would you pronounce it?
  • What feeling does the name give you?
  • What kind of brand would you imagine it belongs to?

There’s no right or wrong answer — I’m genuinely curious about your first reaction.Sometimes an outside perspective is exactly what a founder needs, so I’d really appreciate your thoughts xx

HYBRID WOMEN: we've learned a lot from elite athletes, but we want to hear from everyday competitors

Hi everyone,

I'm founder of Formwynn, a small activewear brand I’ve been building.

Over the past few months, we’ve been speaking with HYROX athletes and coaches while developing our Hybrid collection.

We’ve learned a lot from elite athletes — their feedback on movement, performance and what they need from kit has been incredibly valuable.

But I realised something:

The women we want to design for are not only elite athletes.

Many women doing HYROX are balancing training with work, family, different fitness backgrounds and different body types.

They might not train twice a day or optimise every detail of performance — but they still want kit that helps them feel confident and comfortable through a tough session.

That’s the perspective I’d love to understand better.

For those who train or race HYROX:

1. What does your weekly HYROX/HYBRID training look like?

(e.g. CrossFit background, running + strength, classes, solo training, preparing for your first race)

2. During a HYROX session or race, what is the moment where your clothing becomes distracting?

For example:

  • running between stations
  • burpee broad jumps
  • sled push/pull
  • wall balls
  • rowing
  • lunges

3. What is something you wish your current kit did better?

Examples:

  • staying in place without adjusting
  • support while running
  • comfort during long sessions
  • coverage
  • pockets
  • sweat management

4. What do you currently wear for HYROX, and what makes you choose it?

We’re building Formwynn from the ground up, and while elite athletes help us understand performance, everyday athletes help us understand real life.

I’d genuinely love to hear your experiences.xx

I'm building a new activewear brand, I'd love honest feedback from this community

Hi everyone,

I'm Ruth, the founder of FORMWYNN, a small activewear brand brand I’ve been building over the past year.

I wanted to come here because many of the decisions we’re making are based on a simple question:

What do women actually need from activewear when they really move?

Not just how it looks in photos, but how it feels during training. Our current focus is women’s activewear, because we’re trying to solve some very specific challenges women experience during movement. That said, I’m also interested in hearing from anyone who cares about fit, comfort and good design.

I’d love to hear your experiences:

1. What type of training or movement do you mainly do?

(HYROX / CrossFit / Pilates / Yoga / Running / Strength training / Other)

2. During that activity, what is the one clothing problem that annoys you most?

Examples:

  • leggings rolling down
  • shorts moving during running/jumping
  • bra not supportive enough
  • fabric too restrictive
  • uncomfortable seams
  • not enough coverage
  • not enough useful pockets

3. Is there a piece of activewear you own that you think is genuinely well designed? What makes it work SO well?

For us, the best activewear should almost disappear when you wear it — so you can focus on the movement, not your clothes.

I’m building Formwynn from the ground up, and honest feedback from people who actually move is much more valuable than guessing.

Would genuinely love to hear your thoughts.xx
