Carpet or other suggestions to reduce fall risk
Hi, I am looking for suggestions for something to cover linoleum flooring in a bathroom for the elder I work with. She is around 85 with dementia and a shuffling gait. The linoleum flooring is blue and white and really messes with her depth perception. Right now there's a hodgepodge of rugs and yoga mats in the bathroom and the person in charge of caretaker coordination asked me to look into other options. This elder has fallen in the bathroom a few times so they want something to cover the floor because apparently when nothing is covering it she is very hesitant and the shuffling increases. Whatever it is needs to be inexpensive so it can be replaced or easily washable for obvious reasons. A lightweight carpeting that I can cut to size that won't shift around is one option however that wouldn't last long before needing to be replaced. Has anyone dealt with this before and have any suggestions? Tripping is a big concern and as much as carpet in a bathroom isn't ideal its better than a hodgepodge of rugs or nothing but the linoleum right now. If there's other subreddits that would be good for cross posting I'm open to that information too. Thanks for helping me keep this sweet lady safe!
