Is it just me, or is this game... Actually fun?

I see a lot of complaints about the upcoming collector boosters, serialized cards, and scalpers...

I just played for the first time at a store event, and I had a blast. The gameplay was way better than I expected, and the chance of a non-game was too much lower than with MtG.

And you know what else? You can have a very competitive experience with a low-cost deck! I have played MtG for years and always accepted that I'll never have expensive shock lands and pricey mythics. But when I wheeled up with my penny decks, they actually competed with some of my opponents! It was amazing!

So I guess what I'm saying is: there may be some stuff going wrong, but Lorcana has got a lot of things going right for it. And that's awesome.

QOL feature requests for new patch

I know it's late, but I finally had a chance to try our the beta, and the Danes were SO MUCH FUN.

As I was playing, I noticed several things that are already better in games like AoM and could be ported to AoE3. Here's some ideas:

  • More colors for skirmish mode (so you don't get stuck waiting for people to figure out their color. Alternately, automatically assign friend/foe colors within a color palette (blue/red, like Zero-K does)
  • Have a slider that sets your preferred number of villagers, and your TCs automatically spend resources to build them on repeat build (like AoM, but better)
  • Click and drag to place multiple of a building (e.g. houses)
  • Right-clicking on an improvement puts it into a purchase queue, and will be automatically bought as soon as resources are available (in the order you entered them into the queue if same cost)
  • when you click on "select idle villager", automatically select all idle villagers in a small radius. This would be such a time savings when late game and you have a pile of villagers who were supposed to gather at a mill but ran out of mill spots, but it's hard tell at a glance who's gathering from who's not.

What other QOL features do you hope to see?

Favorite pet cards

What are your favorite cards that you've never quite made work? I'd love to take a stab at making decks with them. Try to keep suggestions to cards with a value below $0.50, because that clearly means that they're cards that the rest of the community hasn't really gotten to work yet either.
