UFH + Hot Water + Ducted AC

Hey,

Is this setup feasible?

2000sq ft ufh on all floors and a 250L hot water tank for family of 4. Pretty standard stuff

Then a fan coil In the attic with ducting coming off it feedong 4 bed rooms and a large open plan living space.

Is this easily configured off one heat pump? Dont intend do to A2A heat just for cooling in summer.

PIV vs MHVR

Hey,

Need a bit of advice here.

Breaking ground on a new home and working with a contractor who has designed the house. Will have ufh on both levels and heat pump batterys pv etc.

He wants to put a PIV in because he doesnt like mvhr due to the noise travelling through ducting? Should we push to get mvhr in? Ive seen in places the losses can be negligable while others say the losses are extreme.

Whats the difference between a gateway and inverter during blackout?

So the scenario is that I have solar and batteries in my garage. I want to charge my batteries overnight on the cheap/charge them with solar. When there is a blackout, can my inverter power my home if I manually flip the switch to disconnect from the grid? Or do you always need a gateway?

Understanding Batteries and Heatpumps

Hey,

I live in NI for what thats worth and Im struggling to find a good battery setup that suits me.

Essentially we are having a 2000sq ft home built with UFH and we are going to request a ASHP rather than the oil boiler that is standard from the contractor. I think we will need roughly an 8kwh unit?

We will have a garage and good solar opportunities so we will get some panels fitted.

Now the hard bit, how do I pick a battery system? Does anyone have a good video on understanding how the battery knows when to discharge or how I set it up to charge? Theres so many system and so much variance in setup I'm really struggling to get my head around it.

Solar and Battery Installs

We are getting a house built and we are getting Solar/Battery/Heatpump setup.

Just wondering what battery system you energy nerds are using? There is so many options and Im finding it a bit overwhelming tbh. Ive watched hours of youtube videos and feel a bit lost.

Building own home

We are buying a standalone new build that has just had the foundations poured and the main contractor is flexible with any adjustments we want to make.

Any recommendations on things people overlook that are better done before the house is built?

So far we have asked for a downstairs shower in the WC. House already has ethernet and tv ariels spec'd in every room. It has zoned underfloor heating too.

Any smart home or other considerations we should have?

Thanks
