Denver has seen more rain in the last two weeks than in the previous 5 months combined
This probably won't make any sort of long-term impact in the drought, but boy is it nice to see. The temperature change in Pacific ocean waters could mean even more moisture is on the way for the Mile High City in the coming weeks/months.
Colorado Supreme Court orders Children's Hospital to resume gender-affirming care
It's about time we see some state-level pushback against the RFK Jr. DHHS. The Colorado Supreme Court tells Children's Hospital to resume gender-affirming care for minors.
It is nice to live in a place where there is still a common-sense approach to medical science.
Xcel customers being told to allow smart meter installation or face power shutoffs
It looks like even officially opting out of smart meter installation is not enough to keep Xcel from trying to install one. And, if you refuse, it also looks like cutting your power is the consequence. Want it back on, you have to get the smart meter.
I have a smart meter on my house, so this doesn't really affect me. But, cutting power to customers for simply having old-style meters really irks me.
Help Me Make It Through the Night - Kris Kristofferson and Rita Coolidge
This live performance of Kris Kristofferson and Rita Coolidge doing his "Help Me Make It Through the Night" has to be one of the sexiest country music performances of all time.
I felt like I needed to smoke a cigarette after watching this, and I am not a smoker.
Senator Bennet ran for president in 2020 and didn't exactly tear through the primary field. He ended up dropping out before the New Hampshire primary. But, in my mind, anyone who runs for president once has aspirations to be president.
Now that Sen. Bennet is running for governor -- and might be the odds-on favorite to win -- I wonder if he is going to run for president again in 2028. If so, I think he should make it clear to the voters of Colorado that he intends to be on the campaign trail and away from the state.
I suppose he could sit out 2028 and try for president again in 2032 or 2036 after his term or terms as governor are over. He will be 67 in '32 and 71 in '36, though, so it seems like 2028 would be the year to make a run.
What do you all think?
