Got auto-rejected from Starbucks barista position after a week — does this mean I don't meet "basic requirements" or is it just boilerplate?

Got auto-rejected from Starbucks barista position after a week — does this mean I don't meet "basic requirements" or is it just boilerplate?

Applied for a barista position at a store near me and got this rejection email about a week later (screenshot attached). It says I “do not meet one or more of the basic requirements.”

I’m confused because I meet the obvious stuff (age, work eligibility, etc). Has anyone else gotten this exact wording? Since it took a week instead of being instant, does that mean an actual person looked at it, or is this still just an automated rejection?

Also open to advice — should I try applying to a different location, or go in person and talk to a manager instead?

Anyone else still waiting for their unconditional offer from UAlberta?

Hey everyone,

I’m an incoming student at the University of Alberta and was wondering if anyone has already received their unconditional offer? Because my school sent my final transcripts like a week ago but I still didn’t get my final unconditional offer.

Thank u sm!

Will I receive my unconditional offer before August 4?

Hi everyone,

I sent the hard copies of my transcripts to the university, and they were marked as received on my Launchpad account on July 17, 2026.

I was wondering how long it usually takes from the date the documents are marked as received until an unconditional offer is issued. If you’ve been through this process, I’d really appreciate it if you could share your timeline.

My flight is booked for August 4, so I’m quite stressed about whether I’ll receive my unconditional offer before then.

Thank you so much for your help!

I sent a scan of my passport to a possible scammer

I’m currently in Morocco and got accepted to the University of Alberta in Canada. Since I’m not physically in Canada yet, I’ve been searching for accommodation remotely.

I found a landlord and we were discussing the room, rent, etc. He asked me to send a copy of my Moroccan passport and my university acceptance letter before moving forward. I sent them, but I added a watermark saying “For rental purposes only.”

Now I’m getting worried because even with the watermark, all my passport information and photo are still visible. I heard there’s usually not much someone can do with an acceptance letter, but the passport is what concerns me.

What’s realistically the worst that could happen if this person turns out to be a scammer? Could this get me into legal or financial trouble, identity theft issues…
And is there anything i can do??
