Realistic weathering for city roads ft. cushions

Realistic weathering for city roads ft. cushions

i know its been done to death but i havent really seen anyone do this type of weathering for roads, atleast to my knowledge. i wanted to recreate the dark stripes that appear in the middle of the lane to simulate where oil and other fluids would drop from vehicles.

i also wanted to play around with the "yellow" road markings as i find that alot of the time theyre actually closer to orangeish than bright yellow like bamboo or yellow wool, or atleast somewhere in between orange and yellow. was also playing around with alternating the orientation of stairs to create a texture for the road lines. i used oak stairs and copper to emulate a "fading" effect for the paint on the more weathered road, as well as a gray patch of what i believe is usually concrete or old asphalt.

(kudos to user TomOnMars who i believe posted the original design for the double solid lines)

One block arched window w/ invisible item frames and sculk/glass panes

idk if anyone has tried this yet, but i had trouble coming up with compact arched windows for my DBZ map til i saw someone using wither skulls on slabs to create arch shapes. it looked good at an angle but as the OP has specified, only that one angle.

i figured that maybe i could use item frames to some capacity, so i started trying to look for items that were dark and covered the most space in the inventory and landed on black glass panes and sculk. i prefer sculk since theyre opaque but glass works in other instances. cauldron trick is still best IMHO for builds using deepslate.

Organic/rounded finial design with cushions for spire tops

ever since they added these things ive been wanting to use them for this exact purpose in one of my builds. theyre compact and look nice from a distance, meant to imitate the look of the kalasa atop some indian temple architecture (rounded pot shaped finials).

130 or magic 137 on this NY Strip?

Gonna try sous vide for the first time on this dry brined 1.25 inch new york strip for about 1.5-2 hours. This particular steak, from what i could tell at least, has a decent amount more marbling than a regular ny strip, more akin to a ribeye id say, so was wondering if i should go for 130F as you would for medium rare on a regular lean strip, or as i see alot of people on this sub recommend as the best temp, 137F. I want to guess that 137 would be best considering how much intramuscular fat this thing has but im scared ill mess it up :P and also want to avoid any rubbery bits due to undercooking, im a sous vide noob and would appreciate the help!
