Account Performance

Account Performance

This is probably a dumb question that’s been answered numerous times previously but I couldn’t find a definitive answer…

Is the YTD rate of return including deposits made? If so, is there a way to view YTD in terms of pure performance?

PnL App For Futures

I mentioned in a previous post that I’m looking to start trading futures and I wanted to see if anyone could suggest a free app for tracking PnL on a daily basis. I’d like to get in the good habit of doing it while I paper trade to keep track and then transfer that over when I switch to a real account.

Thanks in advance!

Futures Timing and Profit

Hi all. I’ve been looking into trading futures recently and have been trying to learn as much as possible and also sim trading a few times a day to test myself, my understanding, and strategies.

I know prime time is intraday, specifically morning during opening hours. With my current schedule, I have about a 45min window between about 7:30-8:15am PST. Aside from that, the only other availability I would have is evening/nighttime and Sunday afternoon/evening. I intend on trading MES at some point to start and move from there as I become more consistent with demo trading.

Due to the off peak times I’ve been trading, I’ve found myself walking away with profits between $15-$30 per contract. I’m just curious on whether or not this would seem accurate due to the low volatility for off peak hours? If this seems accurate, should I look to take on more than 1 contract at a time or increase the quantity of trades I do to increase profitability? Does anyone have any suggestions on specific times to trade during these off peak hours to try and take advantage of any increase in volume from foreign markets?

Appreciate any suggestions or advice in advance. Thank you!

Cash Management vs Brokerage Account

I know you can trade positions in the cash account but can't utilize certain parts like option buying etc. Aside from that, is there any difference between the accounts as far as how many trades can be made or any tax implications for trades?

Opened a youth account for both kids and I’m planning to invest $1000/year to start. Curious to get your take on what to invest in. Should I just VOO and chill for them or look to lean into something more risky to grow more quickly?

I’ve been seeing some different suggestions on 3 fund portfolios and I’m curious to see what people’s opinions are on this. The original I had seen/heard is:

•VTI

•VXUS

•BND

100% diversification and just change percentages based on age/risk.

Another I heard recently is:

VOO

QQQM

SCHD

The idea behind this is tracking the S&P for moderate growth, QQQM for international exposure through NASDAQ and more risk compared to VXUS, and SCHD as the safe play compared to BND.

Just curious to get everyone’s thoughts or opinions on one vs the other OR to see if anyone has a suggestion on a different 3 fund. Thanks in advance!
