Drivetrain skipping/slipping when starting to pedal – new to e-MTB
Hi everyone,
I'm new to e-MTBs and I'm trying to figure out an issue with my bike. I recently bought a Bianchi T-Tronik Sport 9.1 (2024). It's a used bike with only around 700 km on it. It has a Shimano E7000 motor and Shimano Deore drivetrain.
The problem is that when I start pedaling from a standstill, the pedals sometimes suddenly spin forward without resistance for a split second, and then the drivetrain catches again with a noticeable clunk.
It usually happens around 2–3 times when I first start pedaling. Once I'm moving faster and riding in higher gears, it seems to work better. The cassette looks fine and I don't see any obviously damaged teeth. The chain is clean and lubricated. I posted a video where you can hear the clunking.
I'm new to e-MTBs, so I'm not sure whether this is something normal or an actual mechanical problem.
Any ideas what I should check first? Is this something I should stop riding until it's checked, or could it be a relatively normal adjustment issue? Thanks!
