When a Customer Acts like They know More than You

Hi. I’ve been at my current retail store for 2 years. Something that annoys me SO bad is when customers act like they know more about the store when I HAVE TO BE HERE EVERY SINGLE DAY.

One example is how we will have product in the same area for YEARS. And someone comes in and goes “oh you must have just moved that around” and i go “haha actually it’s been there for years” and they go “no i know it was actually across the store not too long ago!” BRO IM HERE EVERY SINGLE DAY AND HAVE BEEN HERE FOR YEARS. I get maybe you went to a different location but 99% of our very small beauty stores are set up the exact same. like bro.

ANOTHER EXAMPLE is our bathroom doubles as our stock room, unfortunately. So there’s a big sign that says EMPLOYEES ONLY. NO PUBLIC BATHROOM. It has been this way since this store opened in the 2000s. I’ve had customers straight up tell me they know they’ve used the bathroom here. I know for a fact any employee letting them use the restroom would result in EXTREME discipline and punishment. there is just absolutely no way. omg.

LAST EXAMPLE is people trying to tell ME about our current sales. acting like i don’t have to be trained on these things and review our upcoming sales every month. i get they’re trying to save money but the sign LISTS EXACTLY WHAT ITEM IS ON SALE and since they grab something that’s the same brand BUT NOT AN ITEM ON THE LIST (never a super long list btw and it’s displayed right by the brand) They try and tell me IM WRONG? No sir if it was on sale it would be on the list and THE REGISTER WOULD AUTOMATICALLY DISCOUNT IT WHEN I RING IT UP. they legit try to tell me the register is wrong.

i’m tired haha

You Should Already Have Your Life Set Up Before Having a Child

Hi. So I am so sick of constantly seeing so many young people with NO career, NO money, NO car, NO partner, NO house etc having children and then crying about it on facebook.

“Does anyone know of anyone hiring that would only let me work a couple hours a week and also give me transportation? So I don’t lose my benefits , Omg i’m really struggling!”
I sympathize however why would you have a child without already having a job/savings? Or a partner? I understand things happen but it’s so not fair to the child to have to grow up with the BARE MINIMUM because “you wanted a little cute baby🥹”.

So many girls my age (18-early 20s) are popping out children as soon as they graduate. with no plan and I think it is so selfish and honestly embarrassing.

Not to mention most of them don’t want to work and have never really worked outside of part time retail/fast food. Is this really the example you want to set for the next generation?

Not to be on a high horse or anything, but i’m currently going to college (all on my own, while working full time busting my ass with no help) So by the time i’m 30 and ready to have a kid, i will have money, a career, a car and at least renting a place. Because that’s the LEAST i could do for my future child.

Honestly i just think it’s so selfish to put a kid into this situation. not to mention why are you TRYING to live life on hard mode?!

In America there are SO many ways to get a cheap/even free education. I know it’s WAY easier said than done, but if you do it BEFORE you have a kid, it will be so much easier!!! A local trade school! Even going into management in retail is better than nothing ! Just do SOMETHING! Factory work requires zero education and pays very well! I just don’t get it! People really dig their own grave and want handouts.

I am very very poor even though i work my ass off. i know the system is flawed. That’s why i’m trying my best to play it right and go to college and get into healthcare as they always need people. but you still have the opportunity to put yourself into a better position before having a child. period.

**Moral of the story is, DON’T WAIT UNTIL AFTER A CHILD TO GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER!**

EDIT: I AM BY NO MEANS SAYING YOU HAVE TO BE RICH TO HAVE A KID. i am just saying maybe at least have a place to live and a safety net. that is all.

Do we think this is a good score?

Studied my asssssss off for this. Honestly the test was way easier than I thought. I’m ngl i’m competitive in nature and I haven’t seen a higher score yet, i KNOW people have gotten better scores lmao but i’m pretty proud! I got the best score in my class :3

New Phleb…Can i touch after cleaning? (read)

Hi so I start at a big lab soon, it will be my first phleb position ever. My teacher taught us to help not lose the site , put a spare alcohol pad on a table beside you and re touch it with your finger if you need to palpate again after you have already cleaned the site. i know that it will take a lot of practice in remembering exactly where that nice vein is for some people. this might sound silly but i almost wish there was some sterile marker or something we could use to put a little dot down lol. (btw i understand that’s not possible don’t come for me). So, is this technique looked down upon in most professional settings? My teacher said everyone she works with does it. idk.

Passed NHA 7 days ago, got a job already !

Legitimately passed the NHA a week ago and just had my first interview and I got the job immediately(big popular lab)!!! I am so happy! I know how hard it is to find a phlebotomy position with no experience so i’m kind of in shock omg.

Hi! So I just received my phlebotomy certification 5 days ago and already I have my first interview at quest TOMORROW. I am so so so nervous and also so so excited. I know it can be VERY hard to land a job with no experience. I’m wondering if anyone has any advice? I have no healthcare background but I have worked costumer service for years. Like what kind of questions I will be asked and such? I want to be prepared as much as possible. I understand I am VERY lucky to even get an interview this early. It’s only because of connections I have at this site so I feel like this is my only shot.

Hi. So I take the NHA in two days, (Friday, May 1st) it is currently Wednesday night. I have studied every single day. Usually I do 3 different 100+ question quizlets, watch NHA youtube videos (test simulations) and have purchased the official NHA practice exams. On my baseline i got 90% and i just took my 4th one and got a 99% (i only missed one question out of 100) however i am still nervous as im kind of on a dead line for personal reasons. i feel pretty confident about most things though. my weakest point is probably remembering exact temps certain specimens have to be kept at and how for different precautions you have to doff PPE at different times. anyways, my main question is ARE THE OFFICIAL NHA PRACTICE TESTS CLOSE TO THE ACTUAL EXAM???*** ***

I feel pretty confident acing these practice exams and quizlets. But i’m afraid the test will be completely different because that’s just my luck. PLEASE GIVE ME ADVICE. WHAT DID YOU DO TO PASS??

(also fun fact my teacher has never even been a teacher. she didn’t even take the NHA and had no idea what would actually be on it. we did NOT cover half of what is on these practice tests. when we took an official NHA practice test as a class she didn’t even know most of the answers and we got a combined 70%…. so i’ve pretty much taught myself everything i know online)
