Worried about my Ausbildung due to a medical issue
I’m currently doing a Pflege Ausbildung in Germany. Today I had a blood test at my Hausarzt for a medical certificate required by my school. The results showed that my platelet count is very low, so my Hausarzt told me to go directly to the hospital emergency department (Notaufnahme).
I have a pre-existing autoimmune condition (ITP), but I hadn’t previously told my Hausarzt about it. I will obviously inform him now and get the necessary treatment.
My main concern is my Ausbildung. If I need to take sick leave (Krankschreibung), especially since I’m still in my Probezeit, could my employer terminate my Ausbildung because of this?
Has anyone experienced something similar during an Ausbildung in Germany, particularly during the Probezeit? I’d really appreciate any advice or experience regarding how this works.
