DO NOT BE AFRAID OF ENFORCING MARATHI ON THE RICH(and the poor)

they can't actually leave, can they? where do you think these skyscrapers will go? they'll stay here. Where do you think all this infra will go? it'll stay here. All these towers and houses and everything? it'll stay here.
Where do you think all these thousands and lakhs of housing units in thane and broader mmr will go? they'll effing stay here.
All these schools? will stay here.
All these office spaces? will stay here.
All these private clubs? will stay here.
All these heritage buildings? will stay here.
All these houses? will stay here.
All these NSE-BSE HQ buildings? will stay here.
All these hospitals? will stay here.
Where will BKC go? it'll stay here.
All these malls? will stay here

oh but GIFT city? wait until, modi shah leave and you'll what happens to gift city.

THE GOVERNMENT OF MAHARASHTRA HOLDS UNPRECEDENTED AMOUNT OF POWER; ONES WILLING TO USE IT, CAN DO MIRACLES.

it would create a new market, for companies to invest in a depopulated city which already has the infrastructure to support their offices. Smart talent can move from other parts of Maharashtra to Mumbai. We can create a whole new city from scratch. We'll have everything we need.
International companies along with Marathi owned companies from Pune and other parts of Maharashtra will establish their corporate offices there. Right now, these gujju financial firms lobby against any major international investment which can challenge their monopoly over financial services.
Mumbai could be turned into a literal tourist hub like singapore, tokyo and hong kong.

Cities around the world make laws to make sure that properties aren't locked up and doing nothing.
This is a market. To leave Mumbai, they'll have to sell their physical assets to someone, SOMEONE WHO'LL COMPLY WITH THE MARATHI RULES.

Montreal, Quebec(french speaking state of canada) did it too. The English speaking elite left and it gave rise to a new class french entrepreneurs. Yes, Montreal lost its "financial capital" title, but who actually needs it? I wouldn't care less if mumbai loses that good for nothing title.

Can we keep posts and comments in r/pune in marathi or english?(hindi kalat naahi)

I'm from rural pune(rajgurunagar, khed) and recently moved to moshi.
my hindi isn't great and over that romanised hindi has been a rather nightmare to read; I lived in a gated society in gurgaon for a year or two and that was during covid(and a few months here and there in 2011-12-13), and the hindi I learnt back then is gone by now; also why am I "requesting" you lots to keep conversations in marathi and english?
and yeah, pretty much the title

FISCAL DISCIPLINE, or is it?

Are we going to cross the 20% debt to gdp line? I don't find states like tamil nadu and others impressive for the same reasons. Gujarat gets special treatment so it's pretty obvious for them to maintain low levels of debt.

Looking at how our government has been spending money on useless projects and schemes instead of trying to do actual things(like pressing the centre to remove the onion export ban), I wouldn't be shocked if we end up going past the 20% range.

Article 351 needs to be abolished.

The article is the sole reason for all the linguistic troubles the country faces. It literally forces the central government to impose and promote Hindi.

I'd even suggest to remove from its official language status.

Why should Hindi even be an official language? Why not Marathi or Tamil or Malayalam?

Or maybe I'm being way too optimistic and they(ykw) will always try imposing Hindi.
