It's been a minute since I've finished one of these, so it was nice to finally get another one across the bench.
This is the Sith Variant of my Tierfon Orbital lightsaber transport case, built around a Nanuk 910 all-weather case with custom ABS-printed components that I designed, primed, painted, and weathered by hand.
I like these to look like they've actually been somewhere. Nothing too crazy—just enough wear and grime to make it feel like it belongs in a galaxy far, far away rather than sitting on a shelf.
The lid also features a custom LED nameplate that scrolls Sith Aurebesh text because apparently a normal nameplate wasn't dramatic enough.
These are available now through my website for anyone interested.

Happy Saturday all. Just wondering if this would be possible or not? I imagine spacers might be needed but I wasn’t sure about depth etc. has anyone did this before?
Good evening all. Just spitballing here and wanted to pose a question to the community. Looking at clone movements and wondering if it’s possible to fit a 3185 or 3186 in a raffles case? I assume spacer may need to be used or made? I mainly design small components for my business but wondering if this would be a relatively easy thing to do without having to chuck up the entire case for modification? Thanks for any help!
This is a Luke Perfect Cast from Stars End that I have installed with a custom Proffieboard Chassis and removable battery. Given that this hilt really is meant to be a perfect replica of Lukes hilt, it did require a LITTLE bit of modification for install. Mainly in the pommel section, which was sent off to my dude Jeremy from Solo Sabers for some milling/drilling of speaker vent holes. There is a very SMALL ID in the mid secant of the hilt, so I chose to utilize the upper section for the battery compartment, and access to the soundboard is done through the pommel.
A beautiful, highly accurate hilt indeed, now with sound!!

Here's another Electrum Sabercrafts Remnant that got a second chance with a full Proffieboard V3 conversion.
This hilt arrived as an empty shell and was unfortunately missing its original touch-sensitive clamp card. Rather than trying to source a replacement, I decided to retrofit one of my favorite Slothfurnace clamp cards. After a little trimming and sanding to get the fit just right, it worked out perfectly. The translucent sections of the card allow the chassis LEDs to shine through, adding a subtle effect that looks right at home on the hilt.
This one also needed a little mechanical TLC. The rear of the pommel had been bent where it locks into the body, so I spent some time straightening everything back out before starting the install.
With a custom removable chassis and modern electronics, this Remnant is back in action and ready for use.
Specs:
* Proffieboard V3 soundboard
* 28mm Premium Bass Speaker
* Custom removable chassis designed by me
* Slothfurnace clamp card
* KR Sabers / Shtok illuminated blade PCB emitter
First up is the Lost Soul from Jawas Junkyard, a hilt inspired by Dagan Gera. I designed a custom hybrid brass and MJF nylon chassis specifically for this build, and tried a different approach with the crystal chamber that I'm really happy with. As always, the brass work from Khal was flawless and weathered up beautifully.
The only thing holding this one back from heading home is a small mishap by the customer with the switch plungers. A replacement set is on the way from Leon, and then it'll finally be reunited with its very patient owner.

Every once in a while, a lightsaber lands on my bench that makes me stop and ask, "How have I never handled one of these before?"
This is the Flame from Saberkraft, an original design by Turkish maker İsmail Ozan İzci, whose work has earned a reputation for combining premium machining with clever mechanical engineering. Saberkraft is perhaps best known for its boutique hilts and beautifully crafted display stands, and the Flame perfectly showcases that philosophy. It's a rare saber that feels just as much like an industrial design exercise as it does a prop.
What impressed me most wasn't just the machining—it was the engineering. From the custom PCBs to the way the chassis integrates into the hilt, every part feels intentional. It's clear this wasn't designed around off-the-shelf components, but as a complete system from the ground up.
For this upgrade, I installed a Proffieboard V3 and performed an RCP delete, replacing the original component with a custom resin-printed lens backed by a micro NeoPixel for a much cleaner and more dynamic lighting effect.
The Flame also came with Saberkraft's matching display stand, and honestly... it's almost as impressive as the hilt itself. It's machined from mahogany and aluminum rather than being molded or 3D printed, and even includes provisions for integrated lighting. It's one of the nicest display systems I've seen packaged with a custom saber.
Needless to say, I couldn't leave it alone. I'll be designing an ESP-powered lighting system for the stand next, because apparently I have a hard time accepting that a project is ever actually finished.

* Proffieboard V3 soundboard
* 28mm Premium Bass Speaker
* Custom resin NeoPixel lens conversion (RCP delete)

Another Electrum, another chance to breathe new life into a beautifully designed hilt.
This Renegade from Electrum Sabercrafts arrived on my bench as an empty shell, ready for a complete Proffieboard V3 conversion. Electrum has always had a knack for producing distinctive hilt designs, and the Renegade is no exception. The aggressive shrouds, clean lines, and comfortable form factor make it one of my favorite designs in their lineup.
For this build, I designed a fully removable chassis that brings modern electronics to a hilt that was always worthy of them. The result is a clean, serviceable install that preserves the character of the saber while giving it the flexibility and performance of a Proffie-powered platform.
Sometimes all a great hilt needs is a second chance—and a much smarter brain.

What can I say about the Temperance that I haven't already?
Designed by Joey Mulligan for Saberbay, this continues to be one of my favorite lightsabers to come out this year—and it's still sitting comfortably at the top of my list. The proportions, the mix of brass, aluminum, and wood, and the unmistakable High Republic styling all come together to create a hilt that's both elegant and incredibly satisfying to hold.
This particular saber arrived already weathered by its owner, giving it the appearance of a Jedi weapon that's seen years of service. The worn finish pairs perfectly with the design and really brings out the character of the hilt.
For the install, I used the custom removable chassis I designed specifically for the Temperance. It features a dedicated 28mm speaker pod, a 2020 NeoPixel accent strip that illuminates the grip window, and several additional accent LEDs to add just the right amount of life to the reveal without overpowering the design.
Sometimes the best installs aren't about adding more—they're about complementing an already fantastic hilt. This one was exactly that.

What was the lightsaber that got you into this hobby? Mine was the Evo-Flex.
Years ago, this hilt was my introduction to the custom lightsaber world. Its design struck the perfect balance between classic Graflex-inspired styling and something uniquely its own. So getting the opportunity to revisit one again years later, this time with a complete Proffieboard conversion, was a bit of a full-circle moment.
This build features a custom removable chassis of my own design centered around a Proffieboard V3. While the original electronics have long since been retired, I made sure to preserve one of the Evo-Flex's standout features: the illuminated touch controls and clamp card LEDs. They're part of what made Electrum's designs feel different, and they deserved to remain part of the experience.
I also wanted to give the hilt a little more life, so I modified the body by cutting vent openings beneath the outer shroud, allowing light to shine through the grip section. A layer of Mylar was added behind the vents to soften and diffuse the lighting, while a 2020 NeoPixel accent strip running through the chassis provides the illumination. The result is subtle when idle and striking once powered on.
The chassis itself was printed in matte gray PLA, keeping the industrial aesthetic of the hilt intact while making the electronics fully removable and easy to service.
It's always fun revisiting the saber that started it all—and even more satisfying knowing it now performs every bit as well as it looks.

This is a very robust Starkiller from Warsabers that has been installed with a hybrid chassis and proffieboard soundboard. Warsabers includes a very intricate series of PCBs with this hilt, that allow for a neopixel strip behind the crystal, underneath it, as well as neos under the clamp card. I have also wired this up to utilize the USB C charge port in the control box for data access as well as battery charging. Electrum Sabercrafts “Aurora” — Proffieboard Upgrade
Sometimes a great hilt is held back by its electronics.
This is the Aurora from Electrum Sabercrafts, a sleek thin-neck design that has always stood out thanks to its unique styling and innovative touch-sensitive control system. While the original proprietary electronics developed a mixed reputation among many users over the years, the hardware itself has always deserved a modern platform to match.
For this upgrade, I designed a fully removable Proffieboard V3 chassis that preserves one of the electrum signature features—the illuminated touch controls and LED clamp card functionality. Keeping those elements intact while integrating modern electronics was one of the most rewarding parts of the project, allowing the saber to retain its identity while dramatically expanding its capabilities.
The customer also requested a small cosmetic change: a red thumbscrew. I stripped the factory anodizing, refinished it in red, then sealed and lightly weathered it so it looked like it belonged on the hilt from day one.
Upgrading sabers like this is one of my favorite kinds of projects. Rather than replacing a great design, it's about giving it the electronics it always deserved.

This is a custom Mining Colony build that I have set up with a custom chassis of my own design. Always love seeing makers’ build with MC parts- they are very unique and I feel like we don’t see enough of them!
This was set up with a chase sprinted in matte gun metal PLA, with accent LEDs. The chassis threads into the waist section of the hilt, as most of these mining colony parts have threads where the chassis is meant to be married up tot he hilt. The control box houses a single neopixel in the center for some subtle shine through.
