Got Overcharged At An Authorized Honda Service Centre MRP ₹483 But Billed ₹533, Who Do I Report This To?
Today I got my two-wheeler's engine oil changed at an authorized Honda service centre. Everything seemed fine until I checked the bill properly.
The engine oil bottle was sitting right there on the counter — MRP clearly printed as ₹483. But my bill said ₹533. That's a straight up ₹50 overcharge, and this is not some random roadside mechanic, this is an authorized Honda service centre.
When I asked about it, they said "the rates have gone up" and "we sourced it at the new price." But the bottle sitting right in front of me clearly says ₹483 on it. If the price had actually increased, the new bottle would have a new MRP printed on it. You can't just verbally claim the price went up and charge whatever you want — that's not how MRP works.
Now I'm just wondering — is this even legal? MRP is the maximum retail price, you literally cannot charge above it. And if a random roadside mechanic does this we let it slide, but an authorized centre pulling this excuse just feels wrong on another level.
Has anyone else faced this? And is there somewhere I can actually report this — Honda customer care, consumer forum, anywhere? Don't want to let this go just because it's "only ₹50.
