WIP western. Looking for ideas, details in post.

So I posted this is a different subreddit but didn’t get much in the way of feedback.

So to start I’ll give a brief rundown of what I’ve done and why. Then get into specifics about where I’m looking for advice.

So I am building in a badlands and want to use a more western aesthetic. This particular build was inspired by the third picture. Functionally, I want this build to be able to house captured zombie villagers for curing them. Hence Sheriffs office. I wanted the cell space to be more reinforced, hence the mud brick. When I started I didn’t have access to spruce, and I kind of wanted to make do with what was more readily available. So while I don’t love the Birch it’s probably staying. I was also trying work with the terrain more hence the back. I will be doing terraforming around front though.

Where I’m looking for advice is on blending the cell with the rest of the build. Maybe better options for windows there as well. Also something to do with the empty spaces. Looking at western architecture the sides and backs are often flat but it just seems so wrong to leave it that way. Or just general advice for western building. I’m kind of hating it but it’s a good exercise.

Struggling with western aesthetic and detailing. Looking for suggestions, tips for WIP.

So I ended up starting near a badlands and decide to try building in a western aesthetic. This is meant to be a sheriff’s office which translate to a zombie curing station. The third image was my reference.

I don’t love every choice I’ve made but I’m probably not going to make sweeping changes. Ie, the birch.

So places I’m specifically struggling.

The cell area. I did it out of mud brick to be more reinforced because that made sense to me. But I didn’t entirely plan out the build or specifically plan it out for the space. I’m on bedrock so doing that is genuinely a huge pain. I’d like to blend it better. But I’m not sure I shouldn’t just extend the mud brick all the way up to the roof. Basically looking to blend it better but also for ideas for the cell windows.

The back and the roof peaks are pretty empty. That is true of the reference too. I built around the terrain to add a bit more visual interest around the back and added a horse shelter on the one side but the upper areas are a bit empty.

The front I’m pretty happy with, but I’m struggling with the idea of adding detail because part of the aesthetic is that it should be lacking. I could maybe try adding a gradient to the walls to make it look more weathered.

I’m just finding it to be a challenging aesthetic to work with. And there is terraforming I still need to do.

Settings and Mod advice PS5

So I picked the game up, but I’m looking for settings and mod advice for a single player experience.

I mostly want a vanilla style run, but with more reasonable time frames and simple QoL features. I’m not looking for super stacking, massive weight reductions, absurdly high gathering rates.

I’ve already grabbed custom Dino Levels because apparently that’s still an issue. I’m looking for a breeding aide mainly to see Dino stats after taming them. I’m not looking to guarantee best stats pass on.

For breeding I want most Dino’s to be able to achieve full imprint, and to mature within 2-4 hours. I place more value on Dino’s getting full imprint than quick maturation.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Is this worth getting on PS5?

I played evolved a while back on PS4 and while I generally enjoyed the concepts there were a number of things that kind of soured me on the experience. I mostly played single player. Resource nodes permanently despawning, brutal glare or pitch black nights, probably a few things I’m forgetting. Game breaking for weeks on every update. I’m looking at maybe grabbing this or No Man’s Sky. I’m not particularly snobby when it comes to frame rates or graphics, so those sorts of issues need to make the game unplayable.

And I mean I know asking in a subreddit dedicated to a game usually isn’t going to get a fair response but it’s Ark, if you know what I mean.
