Rethinking being president of a club

Hi i recently founded a neurodivergent club at my uni.

Im NOT neurodivergent, I made the club on a whim because our school doesn't have representation for neurodivergent people which i thought wasn't fair to them.

Already this one guy contacted me and was super happy to be part of a club for neurodivergent ppl because he has adhd and autism and has a hard time making friends. He even included it in his insta bio already lol even though the club isn't even official yet!

Anyways thats great and all, but recently I told a few ppl abt the club and their initial responses were all "wait...ur neurodivergent?!" which i should've expected would've happened.

I told my parents this and they're a bit worried that med schools will also have that same initial reaction. Ive heard med schools dont really prefer people who are neurodivergent, such as autism.

I made like 3 of my friends execs of the club too and they're all not neurodivergent either. I also feel like it's not fair that the club exec team doesn't have much representation. Idk im just a bit lost, any advice?

Club president ghosted me

Hi im 18f and not sure if this is the right subreddit for this, but around a month ago I saw a reddit post on my uni's subreddit for a person starting a club and needing founding members.

Did the interview online and got the VP position.

They emailed me more than 2 weeks ago asking for my address and postal code for the ratification worksheet, and I sent it, and they asked for a date to meet in person to sign the pages. I gave them my whole schedule for the week (i was basically available the whole week) and they never responded. Then after a week I emailed them again saying that I wouldn't be available to meet the next week because I had an exam. They didnt respond to that either.

Its been 2 weeks and I have no idea what's going on. Ive sent 3 emails to them and messaged their phone number and still no response. Im confused because they did this before too (they took like 2 weeks arranging my interview) but at least they communicated then, now im just being ghosted. Any advice?

Human physiology 1 final exam

I have it with emily varga, and she said the exam is cumulative but 30% is from content b4 midterm 2 and 70% after midterm 2 content. Its also 56 Mc, 1 short answer, some fill in blanks, and some diagrams.

I wanted to ask from someone who's taken this before, how much really from content before midterm 2? Was it hard/easy in ur opinion? Does anyone remember any tips

Advice on how to handle supervisors

18F and Basically I just finished my first year undergrad, and im currently in my summer. Im doing research and volunteering during the summer. Thing is that BOTH of my volunteer AND research is not concrete. Meaning the schedule changes every week!

My research supervisor basically never really has a clue when they need me to come in and just kind of decides on Sunday or even Mondays the schedules of the week. But thing is my volunteer gig schedule releases on Fridays, so i have to know what days I do research so I can commit to what days I do my volunteer gig.

Today I got my volunteer schedule and i asked my supervisor the schedule and they jus said "let's start Tuesday and go from there". Then I asked if Thursday i need to go and they said "u dont have to come if u want to." Which sounded kinda passive so i just said I'll go.

So basically now I'm dont think I'm gonna be volunteering next week since thursday was the only volunteer gig. Which im kinda sad abt cause I really like my volunteer stuff. Its just that I'm upset that I'm not doing enough volunteering.

Ive acquired around 120 research hours so far during this summer and only 13 hours of volunteer hours.

Is it worth it

Hi, im about to enter my second year undergrad.

basically i applied for a science ambassador position and got accepted.

I had initially applied because I thought it was a paid position and I needed some income, now I'm finding out its a volunteer position and you only work like 1-2x a month. And its a one year position too, id need to apply again to get it next year.

Im not sure how many hours id be working per month, it depends on whether id be touring new students, doing a shadow day, or on an open house day. But I think it'll be at most 5 hours a month. That's 40 hours a school year. And if i get in again for the next 2 years that's a total of 120 hours.

Does this seem worth it? 😭😭😭 im unsure if i should dedicate my time to this.

Managing ecs with school

Hi, Im abt to enter my second year and im worrjed im doing too much alongside school. I have a harder semester with stats, orgo, genetics, comp, and evolution. Im also gonna be doing research, a club exec position, volunteering, and a part time job alongside school. So that's 4 ecs alongside school.

Im just worried that I might not be able to do it especially since I have a harder semester. Has anyone else ever done this much alongside school ??
