Strange image distortion while panning

Hello everyone,

Can someone explain why the following distortion occurs. I was shooting with Canon R6mk2 paired with RF 35mm 1.8 in H+ shutter mode (electronic shutter). Some images in a series look just fine, while a huge amount is distorted.

I was panning while pressing the shutter. Below are the settings for this specific shot

ISO: 320

Aperture: 2.8

Shutter: 1/20

Exp. Comp.: 0.0

Flash Comp.:

Program: Aperture Priority

Focus Mode: AI Servo AF

CPL filters on R6mk2

I've moved from 7D to R6mk2 and would like to use CPL filters. With DSLR it was straightforward, because you see the change in a viewfinder as you rotate the filter. I've tried one on mirrorless (R6mk2) and it's kind of hard to notice the change due to digital viewfinder/screen.

Any tips and tricks on CPL filters on mirrorless bodies?
