This happened a lot when playing multiplayer, and I never understood how it was possible. I’d hit someone with a red shell, and they’d simply get a speed boost in mid-air while spinning (as if they’d used a mushroom). Yet, even when I used a mushroom after getting hit by a shell, I never recovered that quickly.
Can anyone explain this, or was it actually some kind of hack?

The date was January 4, 2026, and I was really happy to be playing on a map like this. I love anything related to space, and this was definitely the map I enjoyed racing on the most in MKT.
And as a bonus—as you can see at the end of the video—in that very race where I decided to record my screen, I broke my personal points record (at the time).
I'm glad I made the most of it, since I'll never be able to play on it again in MKT.
My goal was to one day compete for a top-10 finish in a Cup, but since that won't be possible, I wanted to at least aim for the top 1000 to wrap up the game in the best way possible.
Looking at the averages from other seasons, I believe a score of 2,300,000 is the minimum needed to have a chance, right?
Nowadays, I usually average 1,100,000 points, but I take it easy and run most races in the 200cc class. I really only focus on the ranked cup races. I wonder if I can reach that goal before the game ends?
Let me be clear: I love MKT. However, if there’s one thing I realized the game got wrong, it’s the fact that you need years of playtime or a lot of money invested to achieve extraordinary results.
Granted, this doesn't really affect multiplayer—I reached S+9 quite quickly and without much trouble there. But when it comes to rankings and ACR, the system clearly favors those who invest heavily in the game.
Since I started playing in May 2025, my only investments have been the monthly Gold Pass and a one-time purchase of one of those packs—either R$ 24.90 or R$ 54.90, I don't quite recall. Even so, I’ve steadily climbed the ranks; I only maintained or dropped a rank in two or three seasons (and that was *always* while playing against opponents with higher DKG than mine).
In any case, I believe they could have done something to avoid this situation—allowing people who have played for months to at least have a shot at the top 1000, top 100, or top 10... or simply not shutting the game down..
The way things stand, for instance, I’ve been playing for over a year but will never even know if I could have reached the ACR top 10 (which I believe I could have achieved).
After a long journey—an almost continuous climb—we’ve reached the highly coveted Gold Mii. It’s a shame I won’t have much time to enjoy it 🥹
Just recalling an achievement from the game: I was at level 44 and had reached 276 wins.
I believe that was an excellent achievement, as I won many consecutive races to reach S+9 so quickly.
I’ve been checking this community every day and found two petitions to stop the game from shutting down. We could gather them all here in the comments section and sign them—it’s a very simple act that might just make a difference

I’ve loved Mario Kart since the Nintendo 64 days. However, due to the hustle and bustle of life and my responsibilities, I don't own video game consoles anymore.
Surprisingly, I only discovered MKT in May of last year, and I’ve logged in to play every day since. Sometimes for 10 minutes, other times for an hour—it is easily one of the best games I’ve ever played.
I had planned to reach rank 99 (I’m currently at 78), but that will never happen now; I also planned to break into the global top 100 for tour scores, but that won't be possible either. Not because I lack the skill, but simply because I won't even get the chance to try.
This is truly sad news—devastating, really. But life goes on, and I am eternally grateful for every race; I’m going to enjoy it right up until the official farewell 🏎️🔥
