Washouts for a friends food truck
Wanted to hook up my buddy and his crew at their food truck. Used a variety of folds, and ties with sinew or fishing line and rubber bands. Fun stuff!

Upon a second loading of ice into my gravity jar it didnt set the same aaaaand I lost a bunch of dye
SO....
Round two it is! Upgraded to a bigger ice container with better access to the top and a second stage to minimize dripping and splash over! I left the shirt as is and dipped the middle into a bowl to soak up the muck with the initial dyed side poked up out to retain its situation
Dharma interstellar for this side DUI/DOI
Here we go again!
GAME CHANGER rinsing out with my new sink mount clothes wringer. I try CONSTANTLY to save water during the dye process. This is by far the best way ive found to not only save my arms/wrists, but also maximize the dye being rinsed out per wring, thus decreasing water use and time in process!
I did Bella+Canvas long sleeves, a short sleeve, and a tank. Also threw some tied/folded Hanes down in the muck to catch spill over and do whatever they may. overall a lot of fun stuff!
My photos are always taken after a rinse and boil out, then a Synthrapol or Dharma dyers detergent machine wash and a small hand softening cycle before being air dried on a rack or on a clothes line if it isnt smokey as heck!
I really want to thank everyone for the support lately. It has been a fun journey finding my style as a dye guy and the kind words from everyone have been inspiring. Love you all!
Couple other fun fold and/or geode tied shirts i forgot to post from a few weeks ago!
Another post inspired me and I got my gravity jar out! The jacket was presoaked 1cup/gal soda ash and spun out first. I layered different sizes of crushed/chunky ice with soda ash, then dharma warrior princess, then ice until the jar was almost full. Last layer being ice. I stuffed the collar of the jacket through a lid ring, with string wrapped around it and then out between the lid ring/jar to secure the jacket to the jar, then secured the lid. Some plastic wrap too keep any crazy drips directed towards the jacket. It hovers barely above a dry double rolled blank, coated in powdered soda ash to soak up any muck and drippy colors.
Got one made for a friend's mother whose visiting this week. This thing had some TIGHT sinew on it. Considering this was almost fully submerged after the ice melted it surprised me to unfold and see the lines/white areas but i like em.
Used dharma warrior princess, wasabi, and hot hibiscus
DUI/DOI after a 20min presoak and spin dry. 12 hour ice melt>24 hours in the hot box~95°F before rinse/washout.
Couple of Dharma 420 UV shirt tests that I processed last week. Tied/dyed dry shirts, heavily applied my own home cooked soda ash dry with the powdered dyes both under the ice and some sprinkled over!
Ice dye, geodes, scrunches, DUI, some DOI as well. All done in a variety of ways, some presoaked, some dry, most dyed at an incline of sorts wirh dharma trading co fiber reactive dyes. I really enjoy experimenting with tie dye and doing different things!
Check out more of the stuff I've done on my website
All washed/boiled out and ready to rip!
Im using Bella+Canvas 3010 6oz 100%cotton and a blend of Dharma trading colors
Also a few test UV psychedelic sunshine geodes! Ive heard mixed results but we will see what we get!
Did some 420(among all the other colors) under the ice and than sprinkled over the ice. Dry blanks with dye>soda ash>ice>soda ash
