Looking for any advice or observations on my vft. In zone 9b. I had my vft for a little over a year. I mostly fill the clear plastic pot holder with distilled water, and sometimes tap water when I’m completely out of distilled. I used carnivorous soil after the most recent transplant. Maybe I’m a little concerned when I see other posts with flourishing Venus fly traps. Should I add any additional nutrients? Change pots to something specifically made for carnivorous plants? Thanks for reading!

Here is a tour of my current garden progress so far. Around this time in my area (zone 9b) the sun’s path is directly over my patio so these containers don’t receive much shade, only in the morning and evening.

Pic 1 & 2: native plants, forgot the names.

Pic 3: succulent, also don’t know the name.

Pic 4: Venus fly trap, hasn’t grown since changing pots some time ago.

Pic 5 & 6: Dill, I think it’s towards the end of its life, just waiting for the seeds now.

Pic 7: sunflower chocolate cherry, should I cut the flower heads if dried up?

Pic 8: tomatillo plants, I think I have too many in each container?

Pic 9: basil plants, they stopped growing that vibrant green and now look light green/yellowish regardless of how much I water. Probably nearing end as well?

Pic 10: jalapeños, producing a lot of peppers but not very hot right now.

My 3 basil plants haven’t had that dark green in some time. Plants look like they have leaf miners and not as bountiful these days. In a zone 9b with full sun. They are in self watering pots. I use Promix all purpose soil with perlite mix. Should I just trim each plant low? Thanks for any input.

My sunflower chocolate cherry plants (blue and grey containers) grew fast and I did not get a chance to repot in a bigger container. Should I still try or should I just leave them?
