Gravel, flat bar, bikepacking

Hi everyone,

I live in Portugal and currently own an electric mountain bike, but I'd like to get into bikepacking and longer mixed-surface rides.

I'm looking for a rigid gravel-style bike with a flat handlebar (no drop bars). Unfortunately, I have an issue with my left hand and don't feel safe or confident using traditional road/gravel drop handlebars, so a flat bar is a must.

My requirements are:

  • Budget: under €1,000
  • Flat handlebar
  • No suspension fork (rigid fork)
  • Suitable for bikepacking and long-distance rides
  • Mainly gravel roads, cycle paths, and light off-road terrain

What models would you recommend in Europe/Portugal?

Thanks!

Adidas Metalbone CTRL 2025 or identical

I have an Adidas Metalbone CTRL 2025 and I really like the racket, but my wife really likes it too, which has caused me a problem: I use it with weights at the bottom and my wife doesn’t, and I’ve already managed to strip a screw on one side. I was thinking of buying an exactly the same racket for myself so she can keep this one. I’d like one that’s more or less the same – I really like the feel and the control I get from it, and from what I can see, the Wilson V1 Pro is very similar. Do you have any advice?

Caminho frances de Ebike

Hi everyone :)

I’m thinking of doing the French Way on an e-bike. Has anyone done it? Any tips? This year I did the Primitive Way in 5 days and found that covering 70–80 km a day is manageable as long as I take a break at lunchtime...
