Very sharp, then throbbing pain. Is this a rececced gum, or an inflamed one?

Hello. I've been having some very sharp, followed by throbbing, pain in the lower right area of my jaw. I looked at all of my teeth and couldn't see any visible cavities, but one tooth has what looks like a very thin, darker layer of gum around it.

I'm not sure:

  1. What exactly that is.
  2. How I could go about fixing it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all

RG rotate has quickly become my favorite PICO-8 device.

I don't have any roms, emulation or Android based games on it. Just PICO-8. And the battery on that thing is pretty good considering it's just 2000mah (I can easily get 4 to 5 hours of pico-8 runtime).

It's good. I highly recommend it.
