Jaw dropping, what just happened doc recs?

Hey y’all! I absolutely love this sub and have come across a few things to add to my list from researching the posts and comments here, but I wanted to come on and ask for recommendations of some of the most jaw dropping what did I just watch true crime (doesn’t have to be murder, can be scandal or just law related) type of documentaries you guys may have! I have most streaming services so it can be outside of Netflix!

I’ve seen:
The crash, Material instinct, Dark side of influencing kidfluncer, Tiger King, Don’t pick up the phone, don’t f*** with cats, the investigation of Lucy Letby, The family next door, girl in the picture, Amy Bradley is missing, most of the Trainwreck series, and more but I’m looking for things along these lines. TIA!!

Not filming for jobs

I’m watching S3 ep 42 the “Hurricane Abby” reunion, and Kelly says that if her kids have opportunities outside of the studio that she’s going to take it for them. Abby’s reply is much different than what we see in later seasons when Maddie is booking jobs. Obviously I don’t know the caliber of work Brooke and Paige were/could be booking at the time, but we know Abby excuses Maddie more than a few times for having job opportunities outside of the studio. Abby’s response to Kelly is interesting to me, when she essentially excuses Maddie for opportunities outside of the ALDC later. I’m not sure if it was because Sia, a huge name was involved with Maddie or if it’s something spited at Kelly during the time. What do you all think?

“Coaching my daughter”

In S3 ep 41 “The big not so easy” (the episode with the Christi and Leslie fight). Abby is retorting to Cathy in a scene and says “Yes, I’m coaching my daughter”. I’ve always wondered what possessed her to say that. I KNOW she clearly thought of Maddie and Mckenzie as more than just students that danced for her, but I’ve always wondered why she would go as far as to tell Cathy that’s she’s coaching “my daughter” that’s a very bold statement to make to someone who knows you personally and knows damn well, that isn’t your daughter at all. I know Abby is tremendously full of herself, but that still felt so off the wall to say (maybe that’s why she said it I guess). I don’t know if she chose to say that as dig towards Cathy and Vivi, but it sounds so delusional every time I hear it.

Chloe’s Birthday Post

I love seeing the girls interact with each other on social media. 🥹 Maddie and Kendall commented on Chloe’s birthday post. Happy Birthday Chloe! 🤩

I made Christi on Tomodachi Life

I downloaded Tomodachi life recently, and I knew I had to have Christi and Kelly on my island lol. I didn’t do so well with making it look EXACTLY like her but I tried my best 😭 I definitely think I got her personality spot on lol (on the show she’s definitely more pessimistic but i think outside she’s got some optimism haha). If anyone else plays and has made any of the cast i’d love to see!

ETA: I now have Christi, Kelly, Holly, Melissa, and Jill! I’m debating on if I want to add Abby or not haha. Let me know if you all want to see the other characters I made!

Raising Asia question

I apologize if this isn’t allowed and I will immediately delete if so as it’s not directly about Dance Moms, but I just watched the first episode of Raising Asia. There’s this huge ruckus about a back up dancer complaining that her routine was too mature (agreed) and they scramble to change it, but when she goes on stage everything seems to still be the same. I’m confused on a few things. They go back and forth from saying it was a back up dancer, then it was the world of dance, and then it seemed like her manager? Who actually had the issue? If it was a back up dancer why this was brought up like right before she takes the stage instead of in the rehearsal or something. I get that a back up dancer can’t exactly tell a choreographer (especially Anthony) they find their work inappropriate, but it seemed all over the place to me even though I agreed with the fact it was way to mature for a child.

Fans who watched in real time.

What was your organic reaction to the OG girls leaving in real time?

I was absolutely floored at Brooke/ Paige obviously. This was our first true “blow out rodeo” in my opinion lol. I was younger when that aired so I was always hoping Kelly would be back because I did NOT understand how a lot of high tension conflict resolves, especially on TV.

When Chloe left I spent the ENTIRE break/ 6 episodes of the next season waiting for Christi and Chloe to pop back up because they did that during Pink Lemonade.

Maddie/ Mckenzie surprised me the most honestly, like I mentioned I was younger when the show was airing but I was still so incredibly shocked to see them leave the show despite being older than when Brooke/Paige left. I especially thought they would stay for at least the duration of the show, but today it makes so much sense to me why they left when they did.
