D. gigas germination

D. gigas germination

first germination after two weeks. so far 6 germinated and 3-4 seeds are close to germination as it seems. i sowed 12-13 seeds. i use 24w grow light bars only 10cm above the container. thermometer is showing 28 degrees celcius in the same upper shelf but it is definitely way above 30 under the lights. directly under this metal shelf i have two 100w grow lights on 50-60% intensity which are heating the upper shelf quite a bit. so i assume at least 30-35 degrees celcius within the d. gigas pot. i also have a cheap little infrared thermometer which shows 32 degrees when aimed at the gigas pot but i have no clue how well it is calibrated

Enough light now?

hello everyone. i know it‘s a lot to read but please i need help.

i am sick of stretched and ugly plants it is so frustrating.

for measurements i leaned a ?folding rule? in cm against the right side of the shelf. i hope you can see the numbers if you zoom in.

i asked here for light recommendations a few days ago and was told barrina would be great. so i got the barrina t8 lights and hung them in the shelf last saturday. temperature is 26-28 degrees celcius daytime and 23 at night. (wild heat wave in europe atm)

i have some cacti, pachypodiums and operculicarya on the balcony right now and have to move all of them indoor in fall. if the lights are alright i will be getting a bigger shelf and more of those lights so i can fit all my plants nicely until next spring.

but is it enough now to stop them from stretching??

all the plants in the shelf definitely react positively and visible produce leaves now:

bottom shelf from left to right:

-pachypodium succulentum finally stopped loosing its leaves and started to produce new ones

-stephania erecta did nothing since saturday but also didn‘t show signs of burn

-euphorbia neohumbertii nothing new really

-euphorbia longituberculosa kinda looks like it‘s growing some leaves slowly at the top (between p. succulentum and d. gigas)

-dorstenia gigas also has rapid leaf growth now.

-adenia stylosa got its leaf burn from the balcony so i moved it indoors. it produced a little fingernail sized leaf since saturday

-senna meridionalis the tiny super long stick thing grows leaves rapidly aswell. might be my imagination but i feel like it‘s thickening up a bit

-euphorbia ramena finally started to grow some leaves as you can see

-dioscorea elephantipes is growing rapidly up the shelf in the bottom back right corner

-second d. elephantipes still shows no sign of anything

in the upper shelf:
b. neglecta, e. parvimedusae, a. procera, e. gorgonis, e. capsantamarensis, e. francoisii var crassicaulis rubrifolia. the rest cacti seedlings, adenium swazicum and euphorbia ambovombensis seedlings. all show signs of growth now

Mysterious Note in Swamp Camp

I found this in a hut high in the trees in a locked chest. is it just a drawing or something of interest?
