I want to make some closet shelves to replace the sagging cork board material I have in the bathroom and linen closet. I was going to use 3/4 inch birch plywood and stain it and leave the layers showing on the sides.
A sheet of birch plywood is 122 dollars at my local lumber yard. It’s 78 dollars at Home Depot. Are the boards that much better at a lumber yard or will I never notice any difference for this project?
I recently put a board and baton wall in a bedroom, made it level, scribed the baseboard piece, and then realized when I put the crown molding on that I could notice the crown molding and top of board and baton being off due to the ceiling. What do you think is the best solution, the right side will be behind a door, so leaving it I don’t think it will be that noticeable. I only put a few nails in so I could take it down, is it easy to scribe this? I only have a coping saw and a hand plane er.
Closet wall on a second floor, joists run parallel to the opening.
