What to do

I have a Belgian malinois who someone dumped at my house and he has been with us for 3 months now. He is very sweet to us, good to our other dogs, and great with cats and I’ve never had issues with seeing him being aggressive other than barking, but I just assumed this was normal as all my dogs bark.

Today he bit my boyfriend. It wasn’t “horrible” but he did leave bite mark and drew blood. My boyfriend is NEVER mean to my animals and comes over to my house roughly 5 times a month. He was outside when my boyfriend drove up and got out of his car and I was inside. I come outside to a commotion and my boyfriend was scared and my Belgian shepherd was barking at him and trying to “go” at him and my boyfriend was trying to run away. I swiftly got him in his crate and my boyfriend was shaken up but overall ok.

Please help me know what to do. I’m lost. I’ve never seen him exhibit this behavior before or hurt anyone in the 3 months I’ve had him. Animal control basically told us if they take him he will likely be put down due to his breed (we called to see if he was anyone’s dog back when he was dumped at our house). So I do not want this dog to be put down but I don’t even know where to start in fixing or solving this. I am not wealthy so boarding and training isn’t something I can afford right now.

TLDR: dog bit my boyfriend. What do I do and how can I possibly fix this behavior??

ETA: Does anyone know of any good trainers in the NC area familiar with this breed who may can help me?

please help I really can not afford an emergency vet. My two dogs were outside playing and my other dog head butted her. I noticed her eye was squinting and tearing up. She is now opening her eye more now but the “injured” eye pupil is smaller and not dilating. I see no blood or discoloration in the eyeball and she is playing and eating as normal. No lethargy.

My boyfriend is in med school and said he thinks this is just temporary due to constriction caused by injury and should heal back to normal…but he deals with humans not animals. She is a one year old golden doodle.
