Is this no longer a thing anymore, or am I showing my age? I'm trying to get my close to 80 year old father paired with one of my old phones (he's very resistant to having a cellphone for whatever reason, but at his age and the fact my mother has seizures it's a medical necessity IMO) but don't want to be locked into a contract. He will very rarely use it. Is there any way I can open a line somewhere, throw 50 bucks on it and not have to worry about it?

I know Freedom has those yearly plans, but even that seems like too much. What are my options?

I can hear a whole ton of people and music, but can't go out right now to find out and nothing on the net I can see.
