Probably not a big deal to everyone, but it's my first!

Zero build, Solo. I honestly thought there were 4 other players remaining, so when someone broke cover and I had the drop on them, I figured hey; if I can knock them out, then top 3 will be a new high. But then this popped up!

I'm usually not great at PvP and only started playing last season, and only started playing BR because of the stuff linked to the battlepass. But I've actually been enjoying it.

This match also checked off the last few eliminations I needed for the John Wick sprite, so if I can get a few kills with that equipped, and work out how to hit players with the lancehead clip, I might actually get the simpsons skin!

There should be a cosmetic for reaching RB30

Like an aura, or a hat, or a base paint or something. Maybe a player aura that looks like a crown. Basically there should be a visible thing you can equip to show off your poopsocking skills.

And make it retroactive, I don't want to have to do it again.

Navigation outlines disappear on PS5 after leaving activities.

Hi, on PS5 I've found a bug where the navigation outline disappears after leaving an island and returning to the main menu.

Obviously this isn't such a problem for PC users where you can just use the cursor to identify where your focus is, but the second half of the attached clip from about 00:40 onwards shows how bad this can be - particularly on the secondary passes and quests screens, it's almost impossible to navigate them.

Restarting the game returns the outline to how it is in the first half of the video (i.e. before you start an activity), but then as soon as you return to the menu it disappears again. This is especially annoying with the recent changes to matchmaking in Save The World randomly booting you back to the main menu.

It does this no matter which island it is - BR, Reload, STW or Droid Tycoon (shut up it rules) - whenever you return to the main menu the navigation outline disappears.

It's been like this for a week or two now, and it doesn't seem to be a known issue on any of the lists I can find. Anyone else on PS5 having this issue or just me?

Looking for alternatives to the Cone of Shame (UK)

Hey all, Kimmie here has to go into surgery next friday for the removal of a few skin bumps we were (hopefully) lucky enough to catch early.

We are hoping to avoid the Cone of Shame if we can, as we don't have a particularly spacious house and can see her ending up catching it on everything. I work from home so will be able to keep an eye on her most of the time, but we still want something to prevent her reaching her stitches just in case.

I understand there's a kind of big neck cushion thing that makes it difficult for dogs to chew their stitches, and a body wrap / shirt thing that can help stop dogs from reaching stitches? Ideally things that can be purchased in / ordered from the UK.

Any recommendations of things people have used would be much appreciated so we can make the process of healing as fast and fuss-free as possible.

Any chance we could get the astromech missions listed with the most important at the top?

Just save a bit of wear & tear on my poor thumbs scrolling through each time.

E: I think the ideal order IMHO would be chips > highest available credit mission > locked missions at the bottom.

How do I return to homebase at the end of a mission?

After finishing a match, instead of pressing circle to return to homebase, it's now asking me to matchmake into another match? And the other choice seems to be to quit STW entirely.

Either way it involves a clear minute wait for the timer to run out. I know I'm doing something wrong, since everyone else who was in the vbucks misdion this morning managed to leave at the end of the countdown, but I was stuck flipping between matchmaking and waiting.

What button am I supposed to press to go back to homebase and research a weapon that dropped or select a new mission from the map, like I used to?

E: to be clear, the problem I have is that I selected 'ready to return to homebase' here and both times it dumped me back at the fortnite main menu instead.

E2: Every time I've selected the matchmaking option, it's taken me to homebase (eventually). So either matchmaking is also not working, or they need to relabel the options and get rid of whatever internal timer is keeping us on the mission end screen.

Pretty sure "Portraits of Someone Special" isn't working.

I'm supposed to find 10 portraits in a 40+ zone. I'm at 7/10 and after days of searching I'm convinced the pianos have stopped spawning.

Ignoring the quest text that says to look in the attics of old houses, most of the advice online says that they can be found by smashing pianos. Initially I was able to get 7 from a few runs of the Launch the Rocket mission in Plankerton a few days ago, but since then, nothing.

The problem is, I think something internal has triggered and stopped the right type of pianos spawning. All I see is the upright pictured above, which isn't highlighted as an objective; and the occasional grand, which isn't highlighted either. The one I'm looking for was boxier and more cartoonish, like in this video:

https://youtu.be/ZjZik-4bJBU

I've checked all the 40+ missions in Plankerton, Canny Valley and Blasted Badlands. I've tried cities, suburbs and ghost towns. Fill and no-fill, all over 40.

I've tried going round on the hoverboard looking for exclamation marks, and when that wasn't working I tried going into every house individually looking for pianos. I've tried smashing the ones I've found, but no portraits. The type I need just isn't spawning.

I'm wondering if they've updated the piano models over the last few days and just forgotten to update the Karolina quest? Or if it's my game just bugged and thinking I don't need those quest objectives any more when I do?

Somebody said something about a 'portrait house' that can spawn which has portraits on the walls you can smash for a chance of the Karolina portraits sometimes, but I don't know which type of zone to look for.

E: thanks to u/MikeRebarTears for pointing out that ruined houses in grassland zones spawn this type of piano! Found one straight away:

Getting closer to being able to equip defenders with SMGs!

You can select them in the menu now, but it gave me a server-side error when I tried to equip them. Backing out of the menu after equipping them shows no weapon selected.

Bit late to ask, but what happens to your backpack when an expedition ends?

The guns, traps and materials etc you have on you when it ends. Does it go to your main backpack, or just disappear?

E: I meant ventures. Currently Blasted Badlands, previously Scurvy Shoals. These activities have their own separate inventories.

Suggested nova upgrade: tag a droid in the droidex

The nova upgrade that lets you tag droids you need for rebirth is an absolute game changer.

But I was thinking, you should be able to buy an upgrade that lets you tag one droid from the droidex so that you receive the Jawa notification when it's at the sandcrawler.

It would be crazy useful for completionists who want to fill out the droidex without having to sit staring at the belt all day. But also it would be useful for endgame players to let them see when the beskar legendary they need is in rotation.

Looking for etiquette advice in BR

Hi, I mostly play Save the World but dipped my toes in Battle Royale last night to get the dog sidekick and the duck sprite for the mech skin.

I really enjoyed it! Wasn't expecting to since I'm not usually a PvP person. And I was lucky to extract the duck on my 2nd game without too much bother from other players.

However I have autism, and a lot of the time I don't intrinsically get what behaviour is acceptable or not. If there's a line, I often can't get a feel for where it is and if I'm pushing it.

For example while I was extracting someone came and tried to gank me, but I got the drop on them by hiding in a bush. And later on I had someone else dead to rights while they were extracting, but I waited for the extract to finish before jumping them. So I'm not sure if attacking people while extracting is considered fine, unacceptable, or just something that happens but sucks.

Another time someone was trying to unlock the dog, so I helped shoot the guards and then didn't engage until they had finished. Another time I had the drop on someone opening a chest but again, it seemed like a dick move to go after someone in their inventory so I waited then fired a warning shot to let them know I was there.

I read threads all the time on the main fortnite and BR subs calling out specific players for "asshole behaviour" and I don't want to accidentally end up the subject of one of those posts, so I'm asking: off the top of your head, what etiquette rules would you want to reinforce for a new player?

Should previous BR seasonal plots be recapped via STW?

Just an idea I had earlier today as I was thinking about the problem with catching up with a live service game that's been running as long as Fortnite has.

I came back late last season to play STW after it relaunched, and haven't really played BR much. But I was interested in the season end event, and was pretty confused by the whole thing. Two skins I kind of knew from the battle pass fought, then the loser was betrayed by someone I don't know, who then went and attacked Jonesy but wearing sunglasses and a flasher coat, and then *he* got stabbed by someone else I don't know.

I would love to have a way in-game to catch up with this stuff. And it strikes me that a good way to do that would be to incorporate the storylines into Save the World, which I understand kind of functions as backstory to the start of OG season 1 anyway?

Or maybe just have it as its own selectable zone, like 'the history simulation' and the missions in there recap important plot points and dialogue from various seasons.

I know there are probably websites where I can just read this stuff, but I feel like it would be cool to maybe use it to add a few missions to STW so new people could have a way to experience it in-game instead of just reading about it.
