First time condo owner should I do it?

EDIT * Location - Calgary AB

Imake 50k roughly take home after tax yearly with a few bonuses. Currently at $28.75/hr. Raises once a year. Been with the company 4 years and started at $18/hr. Looking to buy a condo max at $230k. Would like to try and stay lower if possible.

Current savings:

$40k FHSA

$10k TFSA

No credit debt or student loans/car loans.

Bills:

Car Insurance $320/monthly

Phone Bill $94/month for 1 more year until 2 year contract is done. Then goes down to $40/month

Gas $50/ bi weekly $100/month

Groceries $200/ bi weekly $400/monthly

Total $914/ monthly

SUBSCRIPTIONS $/ MONTH

Pool League $50/month

Gym membership $25/bi weekly $50/month

Spotify $14.00 /month

Disney + $17/month

Amazon Prime $13/month

Total $131/month

Would I be house poor if I choose to buy a condo? Should I stick with renting? I mainly want to try and get my foot in the door to real-estate. What woukd you decide if you were in my shoes? I could get a roommate also if I do buy.

60k gross salary buying a condo in calgary

Current debts - $0 all credit cards get paid off in full every month and no car loans or student loans.

Current bills:

Currently live at home and dont have to pay rent so I have an FHSA opened which currently has $25k invested in cash.to and veqt. Looking to purchase a condo or townhome in Calgary.

I aim to have 30-35k down payment by the time I purchase and will have a 10k Emergency fund.

$335 Insurance [ I've shopped around and cant find cheaper ]

$90 phone bill

$25/ month Gym

$50/ month video subscriptions

$400/ month in Groceries

Am I setting myself up to be house poor if I purchase a 200-280k condo in calgary? I want to make sure I can afford this on my own. Even tho I also plan to have my partner move in with me and out of her rental and she will be paying her part. But the main thing is if anything were to happen I can afford it all on my own regardless.

Buying a townhome with an 80k salary

Buying a townhome with an 80k salary

Hello all. Looking to pick your brains for some opinions. Currently have a household income of 80k between myself and my partner. We are looking into purchasing a townhome/condo/maybe apartment? And would like your opion if you think its doable and a good investment.

We both currently live at home have minimal debts. My partner has a car loan and a srufent loan. I have no debts. And we currently have $30k saved in an fhsa. We are aiming to budget for 300k max for a home.

Would you jump into home owner ship under these circumstances?
