Switching roles at the drop of a black hat

Last night I ran the second and last session of Meridian for a two player group. It went very well. One of the players was completely new to DG and had asked to play after the other player hyped it up to her. The other player has been a PC in every DG game I've run, so they know the ropes.

For context, Meridian starts with the PCs having no knowledge of DG, just regular ol' feds. Little do they know that their supervisor is a DG agent and is sending them out in hopes of finding the supernatural and developing new agents.

In the climax of the game (mild, vague spoilers), the Rookie fled the supernatural event while the Veteran paused to try to deescelate and was killed/died of a heart attack. They had no NPCs with them, but I wanted to keep going a bit.

Impulsively, I told the Veteran that they would now play the Handler and explained the secret mission priority.

Immediately, the Vet locked in. They told the shocked Rookie that their partner was probably dead and would be lucky to not be worse than dead. They showed the kind of flat "i cant get too invested in this because it might drive me mad, but I pity you" affect that many Handlers have. It was pitch perfect.

It felt really perfect to have a player step into a Handler role like that - after all, the Handlers are almost always vets with only somewhat more understanding of the situation than agents on the ground. It's not something I would do for a campaign, but it was a really fun way to close out this one-off.

What radical feminist text(s) particularly inspires you/is your favorite?

Since this sub is spewing a bit away from direct discussions of radical feminism, I thought I'd make a thread to talk about great radfem texts and get reading recommendations!

On my part, I found Gayle Rubin's The Traffic in Women revelatory when I first read it, and it's still my go-to text. Also a big fan of MacKinnon in general, especially Toward a Feminist Theory of the State and Only Words, and for a shorter piece, my pick is Sandy Stone's The Transsexual Empire Strikes Back.

How about y'all?

Meridian Questions (Spoilers)

I am preparing to run Meridian for a two person group and I want to make sure I am not missing something on a key detail.

>!Am I reading the module right in that there are just two ways to get the location of Holy Light? !<

>!Option 1: see the bridge lights, then follow the HLM kids back home. !<

>!Option 2: use clues from churches, land records, conversations with Gottlieb and other NPCs, and store surveillance tapes to determine the location of the land plat or the approximate location of the church. !<

>!Is there a third option, as written? I'm worried I am missing something. My instinct as a player would be to do some kind of surveillance at the stores frequented by HLM, which as written isn't a way to find them. Anything else seem like a reasonable path? !<

Thanks in advance! Really dig this scenario and excited to run it.
