I'm not usually in the habit of doxxing myself, so if I told you about this in person today, no I didn't! But I found a little garter snake in HBC today! Poor guy was just on the tile floor struggling to get a good enough grip to move. Looking for face masks to combat the bad air quality, maybe? Sorry guy, we're sold out!

I picked it up and took it to the edge of the parking lot and let it go in grass. I'm so glad it was me that found it, and not someone who would have instinctively stomped on it or something. Truly made my day!

My next door notmycat Boots loves to hang out on my porch and usually I'm more than happy to sit with him and give him as much attention as he wants until he gets bored and wanders away, but it was 100°F outside today so I had to go bang on his door until his people let him inside. (I'd have let him into my place for a while but my calico would eat him alive.) First picture is today, hiding in my front garden for shade, the others are assorted Boots sightings, to show off how very orange and handsome he is. I think these neighbors are moving soon; I never really got along with them but I'll miss Boots a lot if they do.
