I've got an answer, now what?

Hi,

I've been on a wild journey which has lead to a diagnosis and now, I don't know what to do.

I thought I'd be angry, scared, just anything and at least have that feeling long enough to come to terms with the diagnosis.

For so long I've known something wasn't quite right, then therapy happened which brought more awareness, then a rather big trigger but I had no idea that was linked to the trauma I had already know about. This was something far darker but besides that, I needed answers and now that I have it, I just don't know what to do. The diagnosis explains a lot about my life and nothing at the same time.

Yes, I have my therapist every week but she's not around 24 hours. I have my partner but I don't wish to burden him nor my children.

There's no one to speak to face-to-face so how do you cope without that close contact?

Assessment by Clinical Psychologist

Hello.

I hope that someone could make some sense of this.

After a long wait, I have a diagnosis with a psychiatrist of CPTSD with dissociative features along with prescribed drugs. It lasted a out 30 mins with very little time to mention or recall what I was ted mention.

Anyway, I now have an assessment with a clinical psychologist in a few weeks that I was supposed to know but didn't expect.

So I'm like ... "What is this assessment for?" And also ... "What happens during the assessment?". I was given no additional information either.

Is this a normal process. I also like opinions from mental health professionals.

Many thanks
