Did we ever really utilize Mushtaq Ahmed well?

Mushtaq Ahmed has worked with england, windies, bangladesh and pak. But with pak he never really got a long run like he did with other teams. Though he was around 3 times iirc.

I remember watching his interview with Yaya Hussaini where he talked about how much more freedom he gets with other teams.

And you can see the results too. Mehdi took 5fiver today and definitely mushi experience would've helped. So is it Mushtaq, or is it our system? Why dont we use our own cricketers properly?

Inzi did great with afghanistan but when he came in our system he didn't do well.

Shaheen Shah Afridi in LPL!

Shaheen was dropped from the Test team. Ideally, he should have rested. PCB is trying to manage his workload, but he doesn’t seem to be helping himself.

Just a thought. If Shaheen and others always talk about commitment in press conferences, why not fully commit to Pakistan cricket and skip these leagues for a while? Great bowlers like Starc, Cummins, and Hazlewood have done it.

PCB already pays Shaheen well, and with sponsorships, PSL contract, I don’t think a few extra bucks from the LPL really matter.

We have a World Cup coming up, and with the new format, we’re likely to play a lot of matches unless we get knocked out early. Before that, I expect at least 15 to 20 ODIs. That’s easily 200 to 300 overs in the next 8 to 10 months. Since he is captain and will play all matches leading into and in wc.

What’s the point of playing these leagues??

Finally a 5 match odi series

Finally a 5 match ODI series! I don't even remember when we played 5 match odi series last time. Would love to see more 5 match odi series leading into 2027 WC!

Sindh’s Education Minister’s AI vision is… facial attendance?

We are so doomed.

At Aga Khan University, Sindh’s Education Minister said humen AI se darna chahiye. When the opposition questioned him in the assembly, his defense was main itna parha likha nahi hu, followed by I want responsible usage of AI.

The biggest AI project he could point to was facial attendance using computer vision.

No vision for AI education, workforce upskilling, startup culture, foreign investment, or partnerships with leading AI labs even chineese labs.

are we ready for this? or we cooked 😮‍💨

Windies are quietly building a scary pace attack with Alzarri, Seales, Shamar, Greaves, and Roach.

Australia’s batting struggled on spicy Caribbean decks last year. The 3-0 scoreline hides how good the Windies bowling was because their batting kept letting them down.

We also didn’t look convincing against Nahid Rana etc recently. I wouldn’t be surprised if Windies take the series if they prepare lively pitches.

And even if we have them at 16/4, our habit of dropping catches and letting teams recover to 300 could cost us again. 😮‍💨

On a different ground (where we will not have tests) windies score 600+ last night VS srilanka.

Lack of international cricket is being overlooked as a reason for our decline

One reason that doesn’t get discussed enough is how lil international cricket we actually played last year. Forget the quality of opposition for a moment. Just look at the number of days we played international cricket in 2025:

- January: 8 days
- Feb: 7 days
- Mar: 8 days
- April: 2 days
- May: 3 days
- June: 1 day
- July: 3 days
- August: 5 days
- September: 0 days
- October: 6 days
- November: 8 days
- December: 0 days

Now add the PSL, training camps, travel days, recovery time, and preparation before each series. That easily takes another 60 to 90+ days out of the calendar. Despite that, we played very little international cricket, mostly against lower ranked teams.
The same is happening this year. While other top teams are playing, We sitting at home.
Scheduling is an underrated reason behind our decline.

ICC Board Meeting, What it means for Pakistan cricket 🇵🇰 ⬇️

🏆 Women's T20 World Cup 2028: Hosted by PCB. Key development: India's matches will be played at a neutral venue – a significant clause given the political realities.

⚖️ Franchise cricket committee: ICC has formed a committee to assess harmonisation of franchise leagues with the international calendar. Could this impact PSL scheduling and player availability? One to watch.

🏏 Pink ball trials: Tests can now use pink ball if both teams agree. ..if play stop due to bad light.. Could this lead to more day-night Tests in Pakistan?

Australia announced Squad for Pak Odi's

Australia has announced an squad for Odi's VS pak. I don't see any of the IPL players which is kinda expected but some players like Starc whose teams gonna get kicked before playoffs. May be they are protecting fast bowlers for long test summer.

Btw a much stronger squad including head, Connoly, inglis etc is going to bangladesh later for odis on 9 june onwards.

I guess we need to bang them 3-0

Shaheen avg 40, Hassan avg 107 playing, Khuram avg 30 benched!

Though this entire test bowling looks toothless tbh. Shaheen, Hassan, Abbas, khuram they all are 120-135 bowler but such pitches require extra zip which only comes with 145+.

PCB has been poor in managing bowlers. We still have enough in tank but need right players for right format. Khuram should've played over hassan ali.

Noman & Sajid are 2 toothless unc's who need square turners and great assistance from pitch to get something. They don't have variations. Nor both are looking to build anything. Both played entire QET and you don't see anything coming from them.

Looks like bangladesh wants to change strategy at home from spin heavy to all out pace. Probably after recent success for fast bowlers like shoriful, nahid etc. Thats interesting to see how they will fare up against pace.

This could be just for mind games too. As we have seen grass trimmed on day1

3 matches VS australia late may and early june in pindi & lahore. I think fair venue choice. I also feel australia will send A-side since they lost 3-0 in t20is vs us. Also with upcoming worldcup prep. Hope this would've been of those old day 5 match series.

Shadab winning PSL allrounder of the tournament does echo what Hafeez said before the tournament, bcz Shadab did not have an amazing season (17 wkts and 173 runs) others on list probably hardie, ifti, imad. I mean with bat it was kinda okayish. With ball great

Even with very average numbers specially with the bat shadab ended up winning all rouder of the tournament. Arfat minhas, jamal etc are promising but didn't had enough chance/perf to translate as he was probably play low compared to shadab.

Should we be concerned about lack of quality all rounders? And will this be another as hafeez calls "ishtiari" perf from shadab? Such has been reactions under this picture on Fb, X ppl calling shadab as ishitiari.
