Looking for an Open-Source OS or Self-Hosted Management Solution for Samsung Tizen TVs for more than 300+ TV ?

Hi everyone,

We have hundreds of Samsung HG55AU8000AUXUE (HAU8000 Hospitality) TVs running Tizen OS, all connected to an Ethernet network.

Our main challenge is controlling TVs individually. In some areas, we have 30+ TVs close together, and using a Samsung IR remote to turn off one TV causes multiple TVs to turn off.

Samsung offers LYNK Cloud for centralized management, but licensing hundreds of TVs would be very expensive.

We're exploring whether we can replace Tizen with an open-source OS, allowing us to install a management agent and control all TVs from a self-hosted, browser-based dashboard.

We're looking for:

  • An open-source OS compatible with Samsung hospitality TVs.
  • An open-source alternative to Samsung LYNK Cloud.
  • A way to control individual TVs (power, volume, inputs, etc.) over Ethernet.
  • A self-hosted solution without per-TV licensing fees.

Has anyone worked on something similar? Is replacing Tizen possible, or could we build an open-source management solution using the existing OS?

Any GitHub projects, technical documentation, or suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Need an official invitation letter for a Bosnia – any suggestions?

Hey everyone,

I'm planning a trip to Bosnia and the embassy told me I need an official invitation letter. Does anyone know a legit travel agency or company in Bosnia that can arrange one? and the cost ?

best test center in UAE?

I’m planning to take the PTE soon and would really appreciate hearing about your experience, especially:

Which PTE test center did you use in Dubai or Abu Dhabi?

Which center would you recommend in terms of equipment, headphones/microphones, noise levels, staff, and overall experience?

I’ve read some not-so-good reviews about one of the centers in Abu Dhabi, so I’m considering taking the exam in Dubai instead.

Do you think I am ready for the exam?

Hi Dears,

I was practicing for the past 3 month's for PTE Academic, It was very challenging to me since i speak very normal English and it was really very tough to me specially speaking & listening sections.

despite my efforts to get improved but I feel I'm stuck and no further improvement since apeuni keeps showing me always bad pronunciation and fluency which is really depressing me.

I know the engine is not accurate but also there are people who's getting much better scores apeuni.

I did spend enough time and I am not ready to waste time more than this and really not feeling very well
