DFW pilfered BAG ~ Urgent help needed: American Airlines has my bag, but won’t release it
I am currently experiencing an extremely frustrating situation with American Airlines regarding a lost bag. This bag was removed from inside my luggage, and I have confirmed via Find My (AirPods) that my missing items is at DFW B29 Baggage area, and I have even had the DFW terminal police verify that American Airlines has the bag in their possession.
Despite filing a delayed baggage claim and contacting customer service repeatedly, I only received one generic response and one phone call from a person with a heavy French accent. The airline acknowledges they have the bag but refuses to facilitate its return.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue at DFW or with American Airlines baggage recovery? Does anyone have advice on how to escalate this beyond the standard claims process to actually get my property back?
They even opened my airpods and, removed them from the case, and put them back.

Airport police DFW non-emergency number found the bag with American and said American has it in their possession, but I am 18 hours later and still no bag. I filed a claim, but still no bag. What can I do!
