Post Treatment Intense Weight Gain

Hi everyone, 22 M who was diagnosed with c. diff after treating h. pylori. After my h. pylori treatment, I was at 178. Today, I am at 200 lbs 😵‍💫. This has happened within the span of a month, and I am very particular with my diet. I am a huge gym goer, and I track my calories, so I cannot imagine that this is 22 lbs of actual weight. I am lucky in the sense that I can still workout and dance with relatively high energy post treatment. Does anyone have any insight at all? I see a lot about weight loss, but not a lot about weight gain. I don’t have any information to really help me unfortunately. I’m also an actor/dancer and how my body looks and feels is a huge deal to me, so this is causing a lot of physical and mental distress. Thank you! :)

C. Diff = Weight GAIN??

Hi everyone,

I’ve read a TON about how C. Diff causes weight loss, and I feel a bit perplexed. I’ve gained around 15 pounds since developing C. Diff, and I am very bloated. I have the diarrhea symptoms, and my caloric intake has not really changed. Yet, I’ve gained a ton of weight.

For reference, I had H. Pylori previously, and I gained a ton of weight then as well. After treatment, I dropped the 15 pounds. I am currently on an antibiotic, so I wonder if it will do the same.

Just looking for more information and knowledge to add to my belt, I love finding answers and empowering myself with more knowledge. Hope you all are well! :)

Taking backwards steps

Hello, 22 M who was struggling for 6+ months with H. Pylori. I retained a lot of weight and was not processing food. I did quadruple therapy, and it felt like everything was so much better. I lost 15+ pounds, and my motility increased. I waited around 2 weeks and the other night, I drank for the first time (a LOT). Since, my motility has decreased substantially, and the scale is back to where it was pre-treatment. I thought that after clearing the infection that I would be able to drink again, and now I am suffering the consequences. Any help or advice would be much appreciated!! <3
