His name is Bole and he is ridiculously cute and awkward
I first saw a Pekingese on a tv show called “All Creatures Great and Small”, and I became kinda obsessed with these cute little furry creatures. I also met a Peke at my friends’ place and it was the cutest, gentlest dog! Since then I’ve really wanted to get one. I have some concerns however and I thought I’d come here to ask and get an objective perspective from people who own these dogs.
My first concern is- I have had a dog before - a toy poodle that lived until 12. When she died I was devastated and didn’t want any other pet for a long time.
I know that poodles and pekes are different. Poodles are very easily trained, don’t shed at all, have low grooming needs and are very active and have very good health (at least this was my experience) I am concerned about this - will I be able to give proper care to my peke and will I know how to “handle” them, since I’ve only had that one poodle, that is a very different dog breed in comparison. Can someone tell me if they had a similar situation?
The second thing-
I am 30 and plan to start a family /to have a baby in the next 2-3 years. Some people told me that I do NOT need to get a dog if I plan to have kids soon. I also read that pekes are not good with kids. What does that mean? Do they dislike children? Are they jealous? Angry? Did someone have a similar experience and what did you do?My poodle disliked kids but I was so young then so I didn’t think about it too much.
Thanks for reading, would appreciate your perspective.
Last pic are products I use. I’ve tried many different brands but it’s the same. My skin texture is just rough and terrible, I feel like when I was a teenager and had acne, even then it was better than this situation now?! Any advice?
EDIT: Thank you all for your advice, you are amazing!
So I love Wayne's freaky protectiveness of me and I flirted with him and he gave me a kiss, only it wasn't exactly a kiss, Idk what it was but it was freaky and intimate and I love it okay?
